"Great program... some minor GUI tweaks needed"
Version: Bookdog 2.0.8
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've checkout most of the bookmark programs out there and settled on Bookdog because it seems to do its job flawlessly. It is well worth the shareware price. Other programs didn't have Bookdog's feature set or they failed to work properly. I particularly like the fact that Bookdog allows me to sort, organize, and check for broken links as well as deal with duplicates all in one place. That said, there is a few minor GUI annoyances, that I would expect in a Windows XP program, not a MAC OS X program. There really should be a way to change the organizing color scheme. We Mac people like to change those things, besides having the check box icons makes the color labeling unnecessary or at least not on normal default items. IMHO I think it would been easy to implement a preference for this GUI item, including using no color scheme at all. I recommend that you buy Bookdog and support the author, because this is a program we Mac people need. -
"Well Worth the Price of Admission"
Version: Bookdog 2.0

Do not let the hokey app icon fool you as this is one serious app that is being tweaked to further tweak the jungle of bookmarks that you've created in Safari. Well worth the price of admission. This latest version, although a beta, has introduced some bountiful additions for the ever meticulous person. One of a handful of Safari related apps actually worth owning. -
"Five-star! Apple should buy Bookdog for next..."
Version: Bookdog 1.2.0
Summary
...version of Safari
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This shareware is exceptionally fast, sure and valuable. I used the donate-ware program from which its developers created Bookdog (SafariSorter) with Panther and I've found Bookdog a must-have application that automatically sorts my Safari 2.x bookmarks per my preferences.
As my subject line indicates, I'm surprised Apple developers didn't build something like this into Safari, compensating the Bookmark developer handsomely. But until they do, I will rely on and strongly recommend Bookdog.
Respectfully, Norm
