"DO NOT TOUCH. Broken, obtrusive, and won't uninstall,"
Pros
When it works, running android apps on Windows is nice. Graphics look great. Runs smoothly on the few occassions when it doesn't crash.
Cons
It doens't uninstall. Uninstall says "Error opening installation log file". Reinstall to fix does not work.
It's obtrusive. It puts a dumb floating icon towards the top right of the screen, floating on top of every application and every window. It can't be moved or removed. It's there as I type this, blocking the 'new tab' button of my browser. It's there when I start up and somehow it's still there even after killing all BlueStacks processes in Task Manager. No options to move, remove or stop it starting up. It's infuriating. Just imagine if every application did this?!?
It hurts performance of your machine. It autostarts on startup (again, there is no option not to) and noticably effects the performance of my machine - and this is not a slow machine.Summary
There is a word for software that cannot be removed using conventional means, and that obstructs and worsens your everyday use of your machine. That word is malware.
I don't know if it is by malicious intent, or by bad programming and terrible design decisions, but Bluestacks is malware. Do not touch it.
