    "if u have a macbook(Pro), get this!"

    February 23, 2009   |   By pegasusbay

    Version: BluePhoneElite 2.1.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
have been using BPE since earliest days, and with a macbook Pro n Nokia N 95 & 73 & 6310, this is just cellphone heaven, what a lovely couple!
great interaction, dashboard in menu, notification, plus an email center just like apple's Mail.
Use yr macbook to send sms, use yr macbook to read them ! no fiddling with mini buttons etc.
almost prefer to use SMS over email now ! hehe
great developer, attentive and good follow up of the suggestions we made over the years

    "Fine little app"

    Version: BluePhoneElite 2.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been using it for a while with my SonyEricsson k510i and OSX 10.5.6. It works fine, several useful features, stable and responsive, does everything it promises, no major drawbacks. Laks a function to get rid of logs. Of course you can go to the finder and delete it, but a "clear" command, as in skype, would help

"Developer needs a kick in the pants"

    March 31, 2008   |   By Stuart9155

    Version: BluePhoneElite 2.0.8

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been using Bluephone for over 2yrs. I love what the program can do - in theory.

In practice, it seems to be getting worse to use with every upgrade. V2 is slow, to the point of being almost unusable at times. It hangs regularly, or fails to send messages. More often than not it won't even force quit, and requires a restart to get back to normal.

I think it's fair to say that if someone is using their Mac to send text messages, it's because they want to send large volumes of texts quickly. So why on earth isn't it possible to start writing a new text whilst one is sending? Why does any kind of message (delivery notification or error) require the user to stop what they're doing and click "OK" before anything else can happen? Why is it not possible for incoming texts to disappear after a set period of time, without having to be clicked on?

There's been too much bloat added to this program. I don't care about advanced features, I'm even less concerned about eye-candy, I just want to be able to knock out as many texts in as little time as possible.

I would pay twice as much for a program which has Bluephone's basic feature set but works properly and efficiently. If the developer can't step up to this challenge, please could somebody else?

    "Gets better & better"

    February 18, 2008   |   By tryme

    Version: BluePhoneElite 2.0.6

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been a BPE user for a few years, when v2 first came out I found the transition from v1 difficult, I'd tested the beta's and always reverted back to v1. When v2 went final I made the switch, it is a different program to v1 but I now very much prefer it and would never go back, each update has made v2 a better and more robust application. I just updated to 2.0.7 which isn't on VT yet and am very happy. I first turned to BPE as the SMS function in address book wasn't compatible with my Razr, several phones later & I couldn't imagine not having BPE.

    "I'm very impressed"

    Hello.

I just tried it and I think it is on of the best application of its art.
I had a closer look on PhoneDirector and FoneLik for example, but BuePhoneElite is really, really strong and functional.

I use it together with my Noia N76 and it works perfect - it's simple a Mac application it should be.
Yes, I think I will buy it before the trail period is finished.

    Regards,
    Andreas.

    "Great App - No looker"

    January 24, 2008   |   By Nikachu

    Version: BluePhoneElite 2.0.5

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.

This app is loosing it's looks with age. Version1 was pretty, with a nice simple UI, and easy to use prefs. This new version has hideous icons, far too many windows and the most confusing prefs I've ever used (I persevered with them, as I needed to use a new phone that v1 didn't support).

I've culled most of prefs, as I couldn't work out what they did - now it does everything I need though, so it's all OK. It was just a nightmare to set up.

For SMS this is great - I hate texting at the best of times, so this app makes things as easy as email. The notifications are great as well - a bit like Growl, but with the options to 'reply', 'trash', etc.

I've looked at things like FoneLink, but they are far too bulky compared to this (FoneLink does most of what BluePhoneElite does, but also does a lot more if you need it all). For speed and easy menu bar access I'm still loving BPE though. (FoneLink has the looks though)

In conclusion - a great app, spoiled a bit in it's new guise.

    October 27, 2007   |   By VersionTrackerUserOpinion

    Version: BluePhoneElite 2.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Seems like the Dev,has some problems with the serial numbers. I have v1 and now I GUESS. V2 is final and logging into the website and getting the new UPGRADE CODE.. does not work.. What gives.. ? I mean way post it and then have the serial update not work.. Strange!!!

Then is the working with Leopard.. ???? ( Big Question) did not post on VT.. leopard comp.

I will also add that I did some beta testing and I think V1 was a lot easier to use for newbies..

    "Going back to 2.0b1050"

    May 28, 2007   |   By dronofrio

    Version: BluePhoneElite 2.0b1267

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I am a long time BluePhone user and I very much like the application. I was using the beta release 2.0b1050 until this update was released. After using the new version for a week or so I have decided to go back to the prior beta release. Both are beta versions so I expect there will be bugs and problems. My experience has been that with b1267 there are as many bugs as in b1050. The most important difference however is that some of the functionality that was in b1050 is missing from b1267. So, on balance the older version was better.
