This freeware feed reader greatly helps manage the flow of information, but the approach takes time to learn. BlogBridge's seemingly simple interface hides a powerful reader. Most readers focus on individual feeds, but this program steps back to create guides, or groups of feeds focused on a particular topic. Users can also easily join a service that stores their guide and feed information. One aspect of the service we found useful was the Expert Guide, a feed chosen by others interested in the specified topic. Another power feature that's offered is SmartFeeds, which takes less than a minute to invoke. Smartfeeds use your search terms to collect articles from any of 10 services, including Google Blogsearch, Flickr, and Digg.
Adding feeds to a guide is a simple three-step process. Just click the subscribe button, enter the URL, and choose the proper guide. Daily operation of BlogBridge is just a matter of scrolling through the articles downloaded from the subscribed feeds. With a click or two you can view articles in your default browser, send the text to your clipboard, e-mail the article link, or add tags to group articles for later viewing.
BlogBridge makes it easy to change fonts and themes, update and purge intervals, share tags, and numerous other preferences. In addition to the BlogBridge Service, Delicious users can share tags automatically. Those new to feed readers might be overwhelmed by the choices, but BlogBridge is easily recommended to power users looking for a free feed reader.
