Ever since I got this game I've been playing every chance I get. I'm totally addicted! I've learned more about blackjack than from all my trips to Vegas. Can't wait for my next trip... this time I'm ready!

"Blows the freebie games right out of the water!"

    May 11, 2008  |   By skellybelle

    Version: Blackjack Gold 1.3.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I bought this game on recommendation from a friend. The full version blew the freebie games I'd tried right out of the water. Granted, some of the freebie games had nicer graphics and wiggly dealers, but Blackjack Gold was more like sitting in a casino. Much more realistic, and truer to actual casino play than most of the other download games I'd tried. And it had an amazing variety of game options. Lots of playability. I'm not surprised that my casino friends gave it such a high rating. I'd definitely recommend it. The full version is well worth the price. And it works great on my MacPro.

    "terribly boring"

    October 18, 2006  |   By phillyz22

    Version: Blackjack Gold 1.2.5

    Pros

it doesn't appear to have spyware in it, it didn't crash at all in the time it took me to realize this game was putting me to sleep.

    Cons

first of all, this product should not cost any money. i've seen better black jack simulations on cell phones that are free.

i'm going to nevada next weekend and wanted a game to practice on. don't make the same mistake i did wasting my time with this game when you can get black jack internatoinal for free and it actually has real characters and an element of fun to it.

I paid or it immediately. The GUI and sound effects rock! It looks GREAT on my G5 with 23"Cinema Display and it is so addictive that I can't stop playing. This app is well done and dedinitely recommended. 5 Stars for sure!

    "Good, gonna get there..."

    Version: Blackjack Gold 1.1.3

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is probably the best, and most alterable, version of Blackjack that I have seen ,that is now available. (We need to talk to the people at camelsmokes.com to bring back their casino to the Internet â?? awesome.) I am going to deduct 1 star because in the startup screen one is only allowed to bet after clicking on the "Done" button. Dumb! Another star deducted because the playing field is NOT full screen, I feel like I have retrogressed to 1984 and the original Mac's screen. All in all though I will buy this package as it is the most realistic version available.

    "Still Disappointing"

    June 24, 2003  |   By DonSL777

    Version: Blackjack Gold 1.0.9

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I must admit that I feel badly giving this application a poor review. It's obvious that the actual strategy algorithms are solid. I just shudder in abject horror at the truly awful GUI and graphics. My goodness ... it's as if somebody asked for a good blackjack simulation with the worst possible "useability" and overall feel. For the relatively high price of the shareware, my advice is to shop around.
