"WORKS IN 64-BIT MODE!!!"
Version: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 2.0.1.14
Pros
Syncs with iTunes, iCal, Address Book and NOW works in 64-bit mode!
Cons
A little too primitive with options when there are synchronizing conflicts- I'd like an option to delete both instances when they occur, but at least there's the option to choose the correct or preferred source.
Summary
FINALLY WORKS IN 64-BIT MODE!
JUST PERCHANCE I downloaded and installed this update and rebooted while still in 64-bit mode and plugged in my Bold 9700. MUCH to my surprise, in the lower left of the window there was the words displayed; "Connecting..." Boom! It popped up as connected, I clicked Sync and, guess what? It SYNC'D! Now there's NO reason to boot in 32-bit mode... awesome! -
"seriously? That is not an app..."
Version: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 2.0.0.64
Pros
None seen yet!
Cons
Doesn't even recognize my Blackberry plugged in.
Summary
The last two releases haven't even detected my poor old Blackberry. I understand how hard it is to write proper software but this is a PR bragging joke. Getting a Droid or an iPhone after this.
Blackberry is hopeless and no cute commercials will bring me back. Shame on you Blackberry! -
"Not so great"
Version: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 2.0.0.64
Pros
It lets me sync my calendar to my Blackberry
Cons
It is totally lame.
Summary
I have several calendars in iCal. This sofware lets me sync them to 1 calendar on the blackberry. If I do two way syncs, then things really get screwed up, dates change, so I only sync 1 way. My personal phone is an iPhone. Syncing is seamless. Not so with this.

"Mediocre software for the MAC."
Version: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 2.0.0.64
Pros
Can sync calendars, notes and load music .
Cons
Will not back up profiles or themes.
Summary
This software is a poor attempt at allowing Blackberries to sync with MACs. The documentation is sparse and the functionality is limited.

"MacPro 4,1 Mac OS X 10.6.5, BB Bold 9700"
Version: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 1.0.4.1
Pros
I found out the hard way, and was pleasantly surprised, that this will sync iCal, Address Book, iTunes videos and audio without so much more than clicking Sync. The software allows you to create optionally encrypted backups of all data.
Cons
I'm not running into many of the cons many others are talking about. Besides their BBLaunchAgent.app and, subsequently, the Desktop Manager software not working in 64-bit, everything else has been fine from day one.
Summary
The software will also automatically check for new available BB OS versions.
Albeit only in 32-bit for now (to the chagrin of 2010 MacPro owners whose computers Apple set to boot using the 64-bit kernel) the software works- it's probably the only reason I haven't permanently switched (to booting in 64-bit mode) as well. It's official software which might not mean much, but it works for me and has yet to give me headaches over anything. I've successfully added and removed software and options quite easily that I've downloaded from non-BB App World sources. It does what it's supposed to do for my self and my wife and I just can't wait to get a larger-capacity MicroSD card so I can actually sync my iTunes Library! :p -
"Doesn't do ANYTHING correctly!"
Version: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 1.0
Pros
Nothing at all.
Cons
Duplicated everything, lack of options. I've spent hours trying to fix it; and am now giving up...
Summary
Very disappointing.

"Syncs, but don't trust it and interferes"
Version: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 1.0.4
Pros
Can sync Blackberry with Mac
Cons
Interferes with other syncing programs--always have to reset sync services after use. Thus, tend not to use it.
Summary
Not a good Mac program. Frustrating.

"Works perfectly for contacts and calendar"
Version: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 1.0.4
Pros
Syncs my Bold 9700 with Entourage contacts and Calendar perfectly
Cons
Non that I can find but I didn't push features.
Summary
I don't know if this works well with media, music, videos, etc but I can tell you it syncs my new T-Mobile 9700 with Entourage perfectly. I use my blackberry for business and i don't care about music and media files. I exported my contact just in case it messed them up but did not need to. Synced first time and every time -- finally something that works for me.

"Do not purchase any RIM product!"
Version: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 1.0.4
Pros
Camera. Works overseas.
Cons
Calendar requires ERASURE of previous dates if regular appointment changes! If Tuesday's regular meeting must change, there is NO PROVISION to change future dates. My old Palm could change dates in an instant!
Summary
See number one, above. I do not have time for a losing proposition.

If not careful. Calendar sync can cause deletion of all calendar events on your mac.
