Version: Bizzar Server 1.3.1
"Excellent alternative"
Pros: I cannot stress hwo useful this is if you want apache webserver with PHP and MYSQl support, i previously spent literally hundreds of hours installing each individual part and trying to get them working together, but since then i have reinstalled windows and was looking fro a quicker version, i came across this and downloaded it with low expectations, but within just 5 minutes i had a webserver with PHP and MYSQL support, and no need to go around changing the configuration files!
Cons: the only slight annoyance is that to keep the server running you must have a batch file open at all times, but this is definately worth it!!

Thank you both for the positive review! I had no idea that the reviews were here till I came back to update the listing. There is a new version that now includes installing the apache/mysql services as default instead of relying on the user to do it themself. I've gotten a bunch of emails about this so I can understand how frustrating it is. The 1.3.1 version has the shortcuts in the start menu, but there's also an Apache Install Service and a Mysql Install Service .bat files as well. If you visit the site, you can download the latest version. Thanks again! -Brad

Just thought that I might be able to help you out lee101. Your con, I found that if I where to enable the apache service then it would not need the batch file. I have had a few versions of apache on my computer already so I am not sure if it because it wouldn't start due to a previous version or just because this program doesn't allow you to start the service. So to fix it and be able to start the service I removed it manualy with a program called sc.exe. I downloaded that from here h t t p :// w w w .petri.co.il/download_free_reskit_tools.htm. It is in the big list. Then I extracted that file to a folder with cmd. Then ran cmd and used "sc delete apache" as the command. You can find instructions here h t t p :// w w w .governmentsecurity.org/archive/t3339.htmlIt said service is marked for deletion and it was gone. Then... This nifty software came with a service installer for both MYSQL and Apache so I ran the installer for apache. The service installed and I started it from the service manager. From there you can have it run everytime Windows starts without ever haveing to see it. I am going ot have to give this software 5. It was increably easy and came with phpMyAdmin wich is really handy.
