"Cust. Service BAD, Safebox erases files, Buggy."

    November 2, 2012  |   By Pverber2

    Looks pretty.

Bitdefender is an absolutely horrible product. The "safebox" feature, which backs your critical files up, erased all my files, put them their on servers, and I can't get them back, I've reported this over a month ago and no answers from them. I called them again yesterday, and their answer? "You can join our premier service for a fee and our technicians can personnaly assist you". With other words, you can't get your files back uless you pay for the upgrade. EXTORTION !!! This Eastern-European owned and operated company obviously is ruthless to get your $$, and the service is just hopeless. I swear I heard a dog bark in the background when talking to tech support.....
I can go on and on, but hopefully this will make you think twice before buying their product.

It will not work and will erase all your files destined for "backup"....!!!!!

    Use at your own risk....

They have the worst customer service even for paying customers. Last year I bought 3 copies of their total security suite, started having issues with files becoming locked, and they wanted me to pay more money for them to do anything.

On the flip side, I bought a nettop that came with Norton installed and I couldn't get all the remnants off. I called Norton and a tech took control of my system. It took him about 45 minutes to get all the Norton junk cleaned off. All that for free. I always hated Norton, due to the inability to uninstall it, but their customer service is top notch, even for non paying customers. My Bitdefender expires in 9 days and I'm getting Avast free, Malwarebytes Pro which I have, and Comodo firewall, and never looking back.
