"There is a "stealth" nag screen too"
Version: Big Brother Keylogger 4.7
Pros
Pretty simple, not likely to be discovered by inexperienced users (but MAKE SURE you have a license)
Cons
- Shareware nag screen that is not disclosed
- Easily detectable by moderately experienced users
- Does not support SSL email serversSummary
This was a pretty decent looking program but is suitable for novices at best, or maybe people who don't pay that much attention to anything around them.
Basically this is Siteworks idea of "stealth:"
- Remove the desktop icon that it installs
- Make sure win explorer is not set to view hidden files/folders
- Hope your target doesn't notice the entry in the add/remove programs list
But there is one other HUGE thing they don't tell you. As far as you know, you have a 7-day unlimited trial. But I happened to restart the target machine and Big Brother came out of stealth mode to ask if I really wanted to shut it down. I emailed the company and asked if that was what was supposed to happen. Andrew Zeppa, the developer (and probably marketing guy) emailed back and told me it was a nag screen and that there were more of them that would pop up. In his words, "It will present itself in random durations during use. This is called a 'nag screen' in effect nagging you to purchase."
Well, thanks for the explanation. I asked him if he was aware that there is no disclosure ANYWHERE that these are the terms of the trial, in fact the trial is presented as being unlimited for 7 days. I mentioned that his nag screen could destroy a relationship regardless of whether someone was actually cheating. That's where he dropped the conversation and I haven't heard back from him.
Like I said, if you buy it straight away it will probably work well on novices. -
"Just upgraded to new version - Still a great product!"
Version: Big Brother Keylogger 4.7
Pros
Easy to use, just follow the simple instructions in the help file. Works great for the price.
Cons
Just upgraded my children's computers. My last upgrade was issued for free, which was great. This upgrade I paid for, but overall I'm very happy I can rely on it.
Summary
Great product for the price, works and is no maintance. I get all my info in my email.
