Version: BidSage 3
"Free, works well, poor interface"
Pros: I used BidSage for about a year and it worked everytime (except when I set it up wrong). BidSage got my bid in on time everytime. An earlier post said it cost $80, but that is not true. AuctionSage, a management program for auctions, offered by the same developer, costs $80 per year.
For the guy who lost his bid and blamed it all on this program, come on. Why on earth would you set up an important bid for something without doing a test run first. It took me a couple tries too, but I tested it out on books and CDs that I could lose a bid on first. Then... when I got it right after a few tries, well, you get the idea.
I'm tempted to give it a 1 star though.... I don't want EVERYBODY sniping, I'll lose my bids! (Perhaps, hmmmm, that's why it got some low ratings for others). In fact, it is a 5 star program in my book. But I know there are some picky people out there who can't figure out how to do simple tasks on a computer without fancy pictures, so to appease them, I knocked one star off.
Cons: The user interface is NOT intuitive. If you use your head (and not assume everything free should come easy) you'll figure it out. Though the search window is helpful, especially to set up a bid, I still find using a traditional browser for eBay searches the best method.

Version: BidSage 3
Pros: I was worried cause I thought I would lose the bid on the one thing I really really wanted and I was trying this out for the first time. But I trusted it and it worked like a charm! No probs at all!
Cons: Sometimes it does freeze up and not refresh itself and you do have to refresh it. I don't know if this effects the bidding process or not (I haven't left it alone yet) You do have to look around to figure out how things work but its not that hard to figure out.

"Works flawlessly in most cases."
Pros: I have used this program for over a year and it has helped me to snipe and win many items. It is the only free sniping program that I know about. It has numerous features, and all work well. You may preview the item, update the bids received, update sellers and all their items, etc. I have a 1500 mbps DSL connection and set the snipe for 6 seconds before the auction ends.
Cons: I had one failure in its sniping when I had two auctions ending one minute apart, it only sniped the first item, and I missed getting the second item. In the future, if I have two closely spaced items I will use BidSage for the one I want the most and bid for the other using a different method.
You MUST update the VARS in the setup before running the sniping to make sure the program is up to date.
