"Great bible software for computer users on the go!"
Version: Bible Max 1.2.2
Pros
References are great as well the devotionals. Has great dictionaries and the hugh amounts of bible's to choose from. Easy to use for those bible studies at different locations.
Cons
The down side for me is that there are a lot of features that I would like to enjoy without having to buy the CD. I bought the BiblePro CD a few years ago but the updates made it invalid at the time.
Summary
Great interface and easy on the eyes. I especially like the search functions because you can narrow a search to a specific area and return the results most relevant to what you're looking for. I have absolutely no issues with Bible Max and the Community Tab feature is a great addition to the program. I like that it interfaces with Christianity.com for my yearly bible reading and such. I would, and have, recommended this software for everyone who loves Jesus and wants to learn His Word. I take it to the dive sites I visit frequently and hold small studies during my service intervals. I plan on continuing using this as my sole bible studt software and plan on buying the full CD in the near future. I have been using Bible Pro for a few years now and it only seems to get better and the customer support is wonderful. This has truely been a blessing to me and my family. Thank you to all the workers and designers of the Bible Pro and Bible Max program. God Bless!

"Very Well Put Together."
Version: Bible Max 1.2.2
Pros
I like having the ability to add subject matter to Bible Max.
Cons
One thing that could be improved on is your selection of map choice for download. It would be nice to be able to download all choices that you have to offer instead of having to send for the CD. That includes bible choices too.
Summary
Overall I like what I see so far. Keep building on what you have.

"Thoroughly researched material, but design needs work"
Version: Bible Max 1.2.2
Pros
A large number of different Bible versions, good searching capabilities, huge amount of information.
Cons
Non-web version actually heavily integrated with Internet. Windows Explorer often launched to perform basic functions like Help | About. Many TCP connect attempts to Google addresses. Bible versions installed as separate programs. Much overhead.
Summary
This is a great reference work flawed by design issues in the software. Windows Explorer is launched often, even if that is not the default browser. There seems to be no way to get Biblemax to use browsers other than IE, or at least there was no way that was easy to find in the manual.
The only version of the Help Manual is online, even though there is another link to "Program Web Site" in the Help Menu. In addition the Manual has no search function or index. Although a link to "Tutorials" is present, that page is "Under Construction".
When Help | About is clicked, IE is launched just to display the program's version number. In addition there are frequent outbound TCP connection attempts to addresses of the form
gx-in-f164.google.com (74.125.65.164)
If this particular one is opened in a separate browser tab, it loads either Google's home page, or iGoogle if the user has configured that page. What's going on there?
One last thing that bothers me about the overall design is the overhead in installed applications. Every Bible version added to the program is installed as a separate application. I have 17 Biblemax programs in the installed application list for the Control Panel's Add-Remove Software utility. That's a lot of traffic in and out of memory, and not nearly as efficient as loading DLLs or other types of libraries.
Last but not least of the issues that I found: there is no uninstall program. As an exercise I uninstalled Biblemax.exe using Add-Remove Software, just to see what would or would not happen. The application was removed OK, but sure enough, all of the separate Bible Version programs remained. It seems anyone wanting to completely uninstall this program would have a lot of work on their hands.
HOWEVER: those are heavily worded nits. Biblemax has a huge potential as a free information source of Biblical versions and references. With a more organized design and less web integration for the non-web version, this would be an invaluable resource. That said, I must express my extreme respect for the engineer who took the time to compile this information and create a frontend that at least gets them all on the same page. A tremendous amount of scholarly work has been done here.
For these reasons I am staying with the program. I consider the information load well worth having to work around the design quirks to access it. I do hope to see some of those issues resolved some day, but if not, the resource will still be there. -
