"It looks like the company is vary bias with the information they provide"
Pros: Easy to install and use
Cons: This info came from tjones74, and I agree with it completely:
Yes, you can get a lot of "add-on books" for this program. The issue that I have here is that all of these "add-on books," which I have looked at, all written from a very conservative to an ultra conservative view point. Out of the "1400" plus "add-on books", I only saw three female authors. I did not see any Hispanic names, and I didn't see any African American names that I recognized. I personally did not see any books concerning African American theology, womaninst theology, or any other theology with the exception that comes from the white male, euro-centric view.
These add on books also cost more, most of the time, than they do for other programs.

Version: Bible Explorer 4
Pros: nothing
Cons: 3 major cons (1) once you add a "book" to the program, you cannot delete it (2) it produces its own "my documents" folder to save notes, but it is very hard to find because it is not with the rest of system folder. (3) The other comments about the discussion groups are right on track. One person linked AIDS and homosexual together. Another person said it is not fair to link these two items together. He continued with stating that it is not fair for someone who has AIDS and it is not fair for the person who is homosexual. They deleted his post.

"Excellent Program although a Bit Buggy"
Pros: Excellent program especially when you consider that it's free. Compared to the other free bible study programs that I tried (including E-Sword), this one stands head and shoulders above the rest in terms of number of free books, layout, design and search capabilities. The ability to back up and then restore personal notes, as well as all unlock codes for purchased books, is very helpful (especially if you have to reinstall the program at a later time after a clean install of the OS). In terms of the previously addressed discussion groups, one does not have to join them in order to use the program, so I don't see resentment with a discussion group--whether it is valid or not--as a valid criticism of the application itself.
Cons: There are some programming annoyances: The application must be installed on the same volume as the system volume (which, for most people, is standard anyway), although this is undocumented; books that are added cannot be deleted (as previously mentioned); to restore personal notes and unlock codes, the backup data must be on the system volume (along with the program), although this is undocumented and, finally; installing new books is a bit cumbersome and often involves a couple of attempts (user is informed that the book is unavailable for downloading, even though it is).
Despite these occasional annoyances, this is an excellent program.
