Easy to start up: The BeyondMenu app enables you to see which restaurants the app partners with before you hand over your personal info. Toggle Delivery or Pickup on the launch page and then enter an address to deliver to or your current location. You can also save this address or as many as you'd like for future orders.

Thousands of restaurants to choose from: It's easy to stick with the same ol' same ol' when you don't know what you're missing out on restaurant-wise. But with BeyondMenu, you'll get the 411 on all the restaurants around you, many of which you may not know about.

More than three dozen cuisines: BeyondMenu offers 40 cuisine types, organized around ethnicity, time of day, food items, or dietary restrictions, including: Afghan, American, Asian, Asian Fusion, Bagels, Breakfast, Cantonese, Chicken, Chinese, Dim Sum, Eclectic, French, Greek, Halal, Hamburgers, Healthy, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Late Night, Lunch Specials, Mandarin, Mediterranean, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Noodles, Pasta, Pizza, Salads, Sandwiches, Seafood, Spanish, Sushi, Szechwan, Tapas, Thai, Vegetarian, Vietnamese, Wings, and Wraps. Choose one or several.

Robust restaurant info: On search results pages, each restaurant listing includes the title, star rating, ethnic cuisine type, distance from you, delivery fee, order minimum, and whether the restaurant is closing soon. Tap on any restaurant, and you will see its menu(s). Tap Info to see the establishment's address, phone number, operating hours, and accepted forms of payment. You can also tap the Map button to get directions to the restaurant.

Reservations: Unlike most competing restaurant delivery apps, BeyondMenu allows you to make reservations for a sit-down meal if you feel like eating out.

Different ways to search: Search the top search bar for restaurants and dishes, browse by Recently Visited restaurants, or just scroll down to explore restaurants near you.

Robust filters and sorting options: Tap the Filter button to narrow down your search with filters, including Open Now, Has Coupons, New, and Rating. You can also choose to sort results by Distance, Delivery Fee, Delivery Minimum, Rating, and Restaurant Name.

Reviews and coupons, too: If you can't decide on a restaurant, a good review or coupon may help. BeyondMenu has plenty of both.

Easy ordering: To order off BeyondMenu, simply add an item or items to your cart, and then choose pickup or delivery. Then choose your payment info and place your order.

Three payment options: You can pay by cash, Apple Pay, or credit card. If you pay by credit card, you won't even have to input your credit card info. You can just scan it in with your phone's camera.

Easy reorders: If you really enjoyed a previous order, you can view it under Past Orders and then reorder it with just a click of a button.

Available nationally: If you're into the service, you can use it in major cities across the country, including Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, New York, Omaha, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC, and so on.

Cons

Too text heavy: BeyondMenu's dated interface is way too text heavy for a restaurant app. If we're ordering food, we want to see it in all its 300 DPI glory!

Delivery fees vary: Because BeyondMenu doesn't have its own standard delivery fee, delivery fees are determined by the restaurants. If you prefer a one-price-fits-all approach, then this service isn't for you.

Bottom Line

As its name implies, BeyondMenu is a menu app that goes the extra mile. You can not only order food for delivery or pickup in the app but also make reservations for meals out. More food photos would help, though, so we see exactly what we're getting.
