Version: Beyond Compare 1.6c
"doesn't do it any justice to say that it's way better than windows comp command"
Pros: easy. did what it said it does. did what i wanted it to do. very well done. bill, why don't you purchase this software and make it part of your operating system?
Cons: nothing i know about. used it to compate files, not folders. it was a real timesaver.

"User friendly tool for moving files between Windows/Unix"
Pros: Very functional and robust. Gives users not confident with commandline tools as drag and drop interface.

Version: Beyond Compare 1.6c
Pros: On a major project, saved me over 8 hours of side-by-side comparisons for a product release. Saved me from putting out a bad product due to an unauthorized - and broken -code change.
Cons: None that I can think of.

Version: Beyond Compare 1.6c
"Superb - one of my most used utilities"
Pros: Have you ever tried to copy a large directory in windows and have something go wrong in the middle of it? If you start again, you've got to keep skipping files. With Beyond Compare, you can easily ignore the files that have already been copied and pick up where you left off.
This is the first choice for synchronising directories. You have absolute control over what is copied. You can see, file for file, exactly what the differences are.
You can show all files, only those that are the same and only those that are different. It is very flexible. And because you can only select what you see you don't end up copying, deleting or overwriting files unintentionally.
If you know a bit about your computer and prefer to be in control rather than put yourself at the mercy of an automated program, this is the one for you. It's one of my most used utilities.
Cons: Doesn't copy open files - have to boot Windows with PE disk in order to backup system drive. Also the handling of daylight saving time differences is not perfect - but that is probably not Scooter's problem. See their website.
Also I get a bit confused by the interface at times (I soon figure it out), but it's difficult to have such a powerful and flexible program and have a simple interface.
