  "Like versions 6 and 7, it's not the original BearShare!"

  Pros: At least they're not including the Zango/180solutions spyware anymore.
  That stuff was notoriously nasty and was taken down by the feds.

  Cons: Not a true P2P app, confined to a strictly controlled company network.
  Censors what you share, especially if it competes with sales.
  Fails to remove DRM drivers + software if you uninstall it.
  Tracks your interests via searches and social networking.

  Summary: If you're going to buy or rent music you can do better with iTunes, Napster and many others.If you want Chat, get MIRC and your choices are literally unlimited.Social networking? Ever heard of FaceBook, MySpace or Twitter?Real P2P sharing is still a... read more

  "A great site to download music w/o virsus's & adware."

  Pros: 1. Love the ease of finding music.
  2. Easy to download to library & to make a playlist.
  3. My husband loves to watch to music videos while he is downloading his songs.
  4. Customer service gets right back to you with an issue.
  5. No virus's.

  Cons: 1. Bearshare 8 does not recognize my RCA Opal media player even though I am synced w/MS Media Player 11.
  2. I got this for downloading to my media player so of course I will be getting the premium pkg, where majority of the music is found.

  Summary: I wish I had known about Bearshare years ago. They need to have a better way to find them on IE. I found others like them...you know the ones w/the virsus/adware/spyware. Anyway, I am still learning to use this software. I am having diffuculty w... read more
