Version: BatchFTP 7.0.0.2
"simple and intuitive"
Pros: Great for sending locally developed sites to a remote web server. It has a couple of smart update features which are really nice.
Cons: I wish there was a more advanced file selection feature. I typically need to select everything but *.resx etc. files and clicking each one is a pain.

Maybe I am not understanding you clearly, but to my knowledge, BatchFTP is actually 'the' best FTP to use for exactly your type of situation: usually selecting 'all except' certain files. Just delete the listing of .resx files, and 'save as' a new batch with a name like 'no-resx.bch.'
