The DOCX to DOC converted file appeared to have the same contents as when I renamed the DOCX to DOC and then opened in Word 2000. The text is garbage and unreadable.
Softwrae not recommended, since essential function does not work. -

Converted a stupid docx to something I could actually use.

Basic program OK @ 1MB, but I didn't fancy then downloading additional conversion filters, with the first of god knows how many weighing in at 28MB.
Summary
I'll probably only use it once - after that I'll tell people not to send me docx. Don't know that it'd be worth US$50 to me in any case!
My gripe's with MS, making me download this because they've tried to shut other office suites out of the market with a proprietary file format, but this ain't the place to slam those MS *****. -

Install froze my machine. Product didn't work.
Summary
Windows XP, AntiVirus off, lots of disc space...
Install froze on setup screen (with progress bar on full) and took 10 minutes of "End Task" to get my computer restarted.
Once restarted, opened product, clicked "try" and converted a docx file to doc format. Resulting doc file contained gibberish only.
