Version: Barca 1.4 build 1000
Pros: Fast fetching of e-mails, easy to configure, feature-rich, and low on system resources. I really like it. It even comes with a diary. It's a great PIM with e-mail. I bought the Pro version.
Cons: The interface is obviously overly-busy. And the junk filter isn't very easy to configure, plus it's not very good like Thunderbird. I hope the next version will improve.

Version: Barca 1.4 build 1000
Pros: Downloaded and installed onto a brand new laptop. Nice interface, plenty of claimed functionality.
Cons: After about a week it started moving like pond water. You click on a folder and count to 10 before it would open. I tried everything, re-installing, de-installing and re-installing. Asked tech support for help as I had paid for this. Suggestion was to compress the mailboxes. That fixed nothing. Was told I would be contacted 'in a few days' but of course that never happened. This is a product by the same folks that made Poco, which was a pretty good client, unless you had to interact with their non-existent support. I see nothing has changed in that regard. Barca folks need to get their act together both in the quality of the software and their misnamed 'tech support'.
Don't waste your money.

"Waste your money on something else. Beware!"
Cons: I get the impression that the people running Barca and its parent Poco are just a couple of whiz kids who have no sense of customer service or how to properly write a business application that people might want to actually RELY on. Was looking for an alternative to Outlook and I stupidly took a chance with Barca.
I have a 3ghz P4 w/ 2gb ram. This is not a slow machine!
1. Bought, downloaded and installed. worked find for about 2 days
2. Day 3, the application got super slow. uninstalled and reinstalled. this did not correct the problem. I noticed that Firefox and my MSOffice suite were not loading up as quickly. Its handling of importing existing mail was comical. My fast machine was brought to a standstill and it slowly chugged away importing my existing data.
3. contacted the "support team" at Poco Systems. Rather than address my problem, they tried to suggest other software problems on my machine were causing the slowdown
4. I did an uninstall and reinstalled again. still there was no progress
5. I Contacted the "support team" again. I was given a message that I would be contacted to be given help.
6. 3 weeks later, I guess I fell through a crack in the system.
7. Uninstalled Barca, wasted many hours, ate the $79.95!!!!!!!!, wrote this review.
If you are planning on using this for business, stop and reconsider. The program does not do what it claims! Use Thunderbird - its free and it works!

"Great product. Awaits some feature additions with new verson."
Pros: Good price, intelligent functionality, great features, particularly email. Good spam filtering. Mbx-based date files far more reliable than Outlook's dreaded .pst file. No multiple pop3 retrieval! Great support.
Cons: Many minor glitches; poor address book. Imminent update will be proof of pudding, but knowing these people, it will be surprising if it's not a triumph.

Pros: layout is awesome, has a lot of good features. The best put together PIM thats on a windows machine.
Cons: The only problems that are causing alot of problems is the lack of the SSL/TLS SMTP.so if you want to use the new GMAIL system you are way out of luck
