Version: Badongo Buddy 3.3
"READ THE EULA!! Privacy issues!"
Pros: I like these free file hosting companies and, anything that helps my site visitors to download the odd file is great.. This seems like a brilliant idea, a program to download direct from badongo which, IMO, is one of the better free hosting sites out there. So for the idea, 10/10.
Unfortunately the reality may not be quite so brilliant...
Cons: I decided to read the full EULA while installing this as you usually don't get anything for 'free'.
As it turns out, it seems I was right to be cautious.
I copy & paste the following directly from the License Agreement:
You hereby grant Company permission to collect and store information of Your Internet usage habit, including but not limited to information about every web page You view with the full Uniform Resource Locators, and the content of web page. You understand and accept that Uniform Resource Locators and the content of web pages You view may include Your personally identifiable information. Company may at times ask you for Your personally identifiable information, such as name, address, email address, zip code, telephone number. You hereby grant Company permission to distribute all information as set forth in Company's Privacy Policy, as well as Your non-personally identifiable information, to our partners, agents, and/or any third party in Company's sole and absolute discretion without further notice to You.
6.4 You acknowledge that You understand that third party software may be installed in the Software and hereby agree that Company shall not be liable to anyone, including You, with respect to any damages resulting from such third party software.

Did that just say we will take ALL your PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE information as well as any other information from your PC, including the adresses of every web site? and then it actually said..we have the right to give or sell all of this information to anyone we wish?
Yep, it sure did.
I will be blocking this softare via whatever way it tries to connect with wherever it tries to connect to but if you don't know what you are doing, leave this well alone!
