"Excellent for wide variety of file types."
Version: BadCopy Pro 3.75 build 0608
Pros
Recovery Mode 2 recovered 16,995 files (including 2,533 AutoCad drawings) from a partially low level formatted, physically damaged 60Gb Maxtor. Also recovered 96 files from a CD R/W disk that was 20 seconds from closing when short in defective hard drive shut down the computer. Successfully recovered 34 JPG images from CompactFlash (100Mb of 128Mb. 98% of files recovered were usable by the programs that created them; i.e., MS Word 2000, AutoCad Land Development 2i, Adobe Photoshop Pro. Can't praise this product enough.
Cons
Like nearly all recovery programs, physically damaged drives can appear to lock up recovery process when numerous bad sectors are present. Found simple workaround was to set upper and lower sector limits on recovery scans.

"Rip Off"
Version: BadCopy Pro 3.75 build 0608
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Downloaded it, ran it, it supposedly recovered but then had to purchase the product to repair. Like buying a pig in a poke. You don't know what it is. I'm not tossing money away for a program that you can't at least run it completly one time. Don't waste your time downloading or scanning unless you are willing to pay for it.

"One of the most underrated recovery programs in town."
Version: BadCopy Pro 3.75 build 0608
Summary
Badcopy Pro is one of the best recovery software when it comes to recovering data from failing floppy, ZIP, USB thumbdrive, SMART Media, CD/DVD, etc. A little known feature is that it will actually try to correct a damaged DOC and ZIP file into something usuable during recovery, a wonderful feature when your important data lies on some bad sectors!
If you need to recover some pictures or data from a removable media, this is one of the best. -
