"Great piece of software"
Version: Backup&Synchronize Pro 8.1.333
Pros
I like the interface every thing can reach with few clicks, the way to select multiple sources to be copied to multiple targets.
But the best is the ability to work with open files, including files locked such as Outloook.
Cons
With the Compare function I will like to update directly a folder from the report list

"Nice interface but not reliable"
Version: Backup&Synchronize Pro 6.1.303
Pros
If you like Office you'll get a grasp of this interface fairly quickly, if not it doesn't take long to get used to it
Cons
I intended to use it to backup/syncronise about 240GB of data to a USB HD which didn't take me long to start. The problem I found was that if you abort half way through, it will never syncronise the rest of the data. In fact after mucking about with settings etc, the only way I found to get round the problem was to delete the sync task and re-create it. Another problem I found was that even though I created the scheduled task to start at startup (and it did show as enabled in MS scheduled tasks) it didn't do anything on reboot. This was after changing about 10 gb of info. There was NO disk activity at all and I would expect at least 1/4 hour of activity to sync the changes I made. When I checked there was no change and the scheduler had shown that it had been run. There is a feature to allow dl of photos from cards etc with renaming conventions which works but you can't set it to automatically do this on card insertion, and you have to program all the options each time you use it so it is easier to move the photos manually. It's a shame you can't configure the options, and then push one button when you want to use it in the future. I'd like to see more flexibility in setting the destination folders too for this. To sumarise, I have to faith in this product as it is not reliable.
