This nonoperational application purportedly performs background checks through databases of private information, but the program does nothing of the sort. Background Check Software's interface assumes the look of a browser, with standard navigational toolbar buttons. The application launches RecordsFinder, though it contains a persistent script error that prevented us from inputting anything into the site's entry fields. In sum, this free software is virtually featureless, doesn't contain a searchable database of its own, and the one site it attempts to use actually works better without it. Snoops will want to find another means of checking out people's personal records.
