"The game isn't bad."
Version: Backgammon Classic 7.2
Pros
Voice is very good and clear.
The animation is nice.
You have control of rolling for both players.Cons
The buttons are a bit cryptic with words describing them appearing away from the button at the bottom of the screen.
It would be nice if the menu and/or instructions would come up when it starts up, at least the first couple of times to help us moderately knowledgable computer people.Summary
Over all I liked the game but not enough to purchase it for $20. The game that come with Hoyles 2005 Board Games is almost as good with the exception of the cube.

"I know how to play backgammon. The game always wins."
Version: Backgammon Classic 7.2
Pros
Looks nice.
Cons
The game always wins. I think the program cheats.
Summary
I am disappointed.

"Biased is right!"
Version: Backgammon Classic 7.2
Pros
To quote a previous reviewers sentence: "It set up the board right."
Cons
I have played backgammon as well as other dice games and sometimes wonder if the computer is set up against the player - on purpose - i.e. it is focused on a win. Well, this one was so clear I only played it a few times to be convinced that it is!
Summary
Don't waste a second with this game.

"OK but don't like choices sometimes"
Version: Backgammon Classic 7.2
Pros
fast game, no dragging
Cons
sometimes it doesn't play stone i want

"Statistically impossible"
Version: Backgammon Classic 7.2
Pros
Small download. Nice voice. Ease of play.
Cons
Biased dice (bad!)
Summary
Uncanny how this thing rolls doubles for itself. One thing a computer should be perfect at is a truly random dice roll. Too bad. Would otherwise have gladly paid for this.

"Not like real game"
Version: Backgammon Classic 7.2
Pros
The interface was the clearest I have seen. I find those fake wood on the backgammon sites distratcting. There were several settings that were higher constrast too.
Cons
The game requires you to play your higher die roll first sometimes. So where there is a blot 3 points away, and you roll a 3, 4 - unless you can play the 4 somewhere else, you don't get to hit the blot.
Summary
I wouldn't buy it because it makes you play the higher die first and that wouldn't happen in real play. I don't quite understnd the reasoning behind that, as it is not a rule in any backgammon game I have ever played.

"Disappointing"
Version: Backgammon Classic 7.2
Pros
You get to try for free so you realise it is best not to buy the game.
Cons
As previously mentioned, unlikely dice roll in favour of the computer. I also found the side bar hard to use.
Summary
Try for free to see what you think, but definitely do not buy before you try. I was disappointed.

The download just seemed unsuitable for me
