    "Search function is deliberately deceptive"

    August 25, 2012  |   By foxrobe

    Version: Babylon 9.0.3r23

    Pros

Not aware of any. Have not tried the translation tool but the hijacking of browser and search functions is a worry.

    Cons

Hijacked browser and search functions on my IE and Firefox. Claims to have an easy uninstall means via Control Panel on Windows but (cleverly) it does not appear there. Babylon's execttives do not respond to e mails

    Summary

The on line community should have an effective ban on the search product and the misleading and deceptive conduct by Babylon

"babylon translator is better than google!"

    August 16, 2012  |   By 3malcom_keeley

    Version: Babylon 9.0.3r23

    Pros

The Babylon software makes it easy to translate any text from specific programs. If the program cannot be fully integrated with the software, it can still be translated by simply copying and pasting the text directly into the program so it's just perfect for me!

    Cons

the free version doesn't translate text but it's perfect for words translation.

    "LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

    August 14, 2012  |   By ZirconAcid

    Version: Babylon 9.0.3r23

    Pros

like one of the other reviews said its got a cool name

    Cons

    absolutely EVERYTHING!!!

    Summary

Obtrusive computer program designed by sand n|99ers from saudi- whatever the **** its called, to infultrate your browser and high-jack it worse than 9/11. Obviously every review on this that's above .5 stars is written by some 70 year old elderly person who has no idea what malware means or what a computer registry is.

If you think this is good you need to have your computer taken away from you and be banned from using any others.

and shame on Cnet for hosting this trash, yea i know you guys get a **** ton of money from babylon because there one or your sponsors but COME ON!!!.

"Babylon Toolbar (Browser Plug-In) ACTS lIKE MALWARE"

    August 8, 2012  |   By lschwartz6

    Version: Babylon 9.0.3r23

    Pros

None noted with respect to browser plug-in.

    Cons

The Babylon browser plug-in is intrusive and very difficult to uninstall. Many regard it to constitute malware.

    Summary

Reimage (a company that offers an on-line OS repair program) recently initiated a policy wherein the Babylon browser plug-in is automatically installed on your computer during the course of downloading the Reimage repair software. In addition to my own terrible experience with Babylon, I did some research that revealed:

Babylon was developed by Babylon Ltd., an Israeli public company (TASE: BBYL). It is, among other things, a browser plug-in for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome. This toolbar hijacks default browser settings, does not provide an option to automatically revert to previous settings, and is infamous for the complicated un-installation process. This behavior qualifies the software as malware in many users' opinions.

As suggested above, I found it to be very difficult to remove Babylon from my system. I personally gave up the effort. I contacted Reimage support and the tech logged into my computer to try to uninstall it himself. It took him 57 minutes to complete the process.

It is my guess that Babylon, Ltd. purchased or otherwise affiliated with Reimage and that the Reimage repair program is now being used as a Trojan horse to proliferate their browser technology. For me, the Babylon browser is markedly substandard and objectionable. Prior to purchasing Reimage or installing any Babylon product, I would urge all potential customers to research "Babylon" to understand what they're in for.

"BEWARE - THIS IS A VIRUS"

    July 26, 2012  |   By Seriously-annoyed

    Version: Babylon 9.0.3r23

    Pros

    BEWARE - VIRUS

    Cons

CNET should compensate users for this invasive virus as they put it as a download from their site. Wheter dressed up as adware, malware or whatever, it is an unwanted virus. The "apology" supposedly from babylon I don't trust given the incideous nature of their "product".
CNET owe it to everyone to put a fix out there for all of us and block babylon permanently.... seriously, SERIOUSLY annoyed

    Summary

    BEWARE - VIRUS
