"I hope they are on the way to get good reputation back"
Version: BSplayer 2.53.1034
Pros
i wish bsplayer would be my default media player but it isn't :( nice handling and performance.
Cons
Annoying notes at the beginning of each track about non commercial usage. It also does not play avi video with audio multiple tracks. For example VLC player does.
Summary
Developer should not remind us all the time it is a free non commercial version. We are not idiots. It is enough to say that once by the installation process as a part of user's agreement.

"Played DVD audio only, hijacked a lot..."
Version: BSplayer 2.51.1022
Pros
NOTHING at all!
Cons
Played audio of DVD only, black screen. Hijacked Firefox and IE browser homepage settings, installed its own toolbar in Firefox. Uninstall was not clean - - left files that automatically ran a DLL on startup, so I had to use Unlocker to uninstall.
Summary
Devious piece of software that did not work, hijacked browsers, failed to uninstall cleanly. After uninstall and rebooting, a DLL ran automatically. I had to use Unlocker to freeze / kill the process, and then manually delete the DLL... FREE but cost me a lot of valuable time. Avoid this software!
On top of hijacking Firefox and IE home pages, and not cleanly installing, forcing me to rip it out piece by piece... this underhanded trickster piece of software somehow managed to ... even after deleting the toolbar with Spyware Terminator and a complete registry cleaning ... managed to keep some components hidden so that Firefox asked me if I wanted to update its browser toolbar! Stay away from this piece of crap! It will cost you a lot in time and frustration trying to get rid of it.

"Nice and lightweight"
Version: BSplayer 2.50.1017
Pros
I tested this on an old XP system and found it used less CPU power than WMP.
The subtitle features are really handy for people who may not always want subtitles to load.Cons
If you use this with a codec pack chances are you may have to disable the subtitle reader in either the player or the codec pack.
For DVD playback I would recommend users continue to use WMP.Summary
This is a reasonably good player for older systems that need something modern looking (with some nice skins available) and lightweight to improve playback.
I only tested this on XP after noticing people having difficulties on Windows 7.
