"***RUINS COMPUTERS! MALWARE ADDED AFTER CNET REVIEW!***"

    May 24, 2009  |   By 47josecnet

    Pros

NOTHING!!!! IT HAS RUINED MY COMPUTER! I HAVE WASTED 25 HOURS TRYING TO GET MY MACHINE TO WORK PROPERLY. NOTHING HELPS. NOT ANTISPYWARE, ANTIVIRUS, REGEDIT, FIREWALLS, UTILITY PROGRAMS, NET RESEARCH. 'Tech Support" is a TRAP. Un+reinstall USELESS

    Cons

1ST, read the "Pros" comments I wrote; they are precursors to these: B.S. Player hijacks and infects your browser. When you type in a URL in the address bar, you go to B.S. Player's search engine, not your chosen one...then YOUR COMPUTER FREEZES,

    Summary

CNET got PLAYED by these con men.
. After CNET reviewed this malware, B.S. Player changed the code. As detailed earlier, B.S. Player will hijack your browser and your computer will FREEZE every single time you go to every single web page...or even try to scroll down. There is no way to uninstall its browser hijack. B.S. Player's website
    a) refuses to offer a true uninstaller
    b) refers readers to its forums...in which any hacker can plant malware links while pretending to help
    c) leaves false advice in those forums.
B.S. Player keeps claiming that you need only uninstall it, then re-install, and say you don't want B.S. Player in any default during the reinstall. LIARS!
You cannot proceed with the rest of the install without doing so, and they know it!
After you DE-select B.S.Player defaults and attempt to proceed with the install, you have to click on an empty dot that un-does all the decisions you just made.
In other words, the next thing B.S.Player says is that you are agreeing to set B.S. Player in the ways you just tried to block it.
I have wasted twenty-five hours trying to clean up this mess, and failed to finish my projects at work, too, because I trusted CNET's review of this malware. . There is nothing to do but reset my computer to a point two weeks in the past and lose all the work I did since installing this B.S. Player infection.
B.S. Player is POISON. B.S. Player is DEATH. B.S. Player is a VIRUS.
And, since you are no doubt wondering, Yes. I do run good antivirus, antispyware, firewall programs which are constantly updated, and defrag, and clean up my registry. Yes, I uninstalled and re-downloaded Firefox. Yes, I went through all the possible settings in Tools et al within Firefox, and everywhere else, in all Settings Functions, everywhere on my machine.
Since installing this malware, my net speed is down 95%. If you infect your machine with B.S. Player, your net speed will be down 95%, too.
