    "Inaccurate or outdated CNET review."

    March 17, 2013  |

    Version: BIOSAgentPlus 2.2010.1.8

    Pros

I found none because it does not function.

    Cons

    Doesn't function on my computer.

    Summary

Despite CNET's claim in their review, this DOES require an install (but does not provide a valid uninstall option), installs without giving you the opportunity to escape, is ONLY for Vista and 7 but will install on any version of Win (I'm running XP, it did not function for me, and the splash screen that pops up while installing specifically states that this is for Vista and 7). It does not show the results of any scan, but immediately launches a browser to find updates that it won't ever actually find, does not time out even after an hour of attempting to find them, and simply does nothing other than clutter the registry (three new keys that I've found so far, there may be more) and add an icon to the desktop. If you go to their website, you will see that this is also not free (it costs nearly $30 US). Maybe if it had actually functioned properly it would have prompted me for the money.

"Asset for an aging system; not for the light of heart"

    March 15, 2013  |   By aquarianstargazer

    Version: BIOSAgentPlus 2.2010.1.8

    Pros

Yes, it starts as a sales pitch, but it's totally worth the effort if you have an aging system & have some mid-level knowledge of computers.

I've updated 4 systems with this service since 2006. System #1 in 2006 was challenging but successful even though I'd never flashed a bios before.

Systems #2 & 3 upgraded in 2012 were seamless. Scan on system #4 indicated an update was needed but wasn't - which they admitted & apologized for.

Scan on system #5 in 2013 (within the calendar yr of purchase) posed a bit more challenging. Required 3x the communication w/ tech support, but ultimately ended up successful - all within a week of the original bios update request.

So 4 bios updates out of 5 isn't so bad...especially when 3 of them have been within the last year. That's a pretty good ROI.

I found the best results were when I communicated via the ticket on the e-support website in lieu of replying to the bios update email, which is supposed to work but is WAY slower response time-wise.

    Cons

My most recent update, which proved to be more challenging than the previous two, resulted in a rather condescending attitude from tech support.

HOWEVER once they realized that A) I wasn't a total newbie; B) had tried to find a resolution on the manufacturer's website; & C) held them responsible for helping me find the answer since I'd paid for their input - I was provided exactly what I needed without having to look any further.

Had it not been for them providing the tool needed to install the update, it wouldn't have happened. I can say that with 100% certainty. It's not as cut and dry as their promo makes it seem.

But not having to determine which bios is correct and which tool to use to update it is totally worth the money on the front end IF you have an aging system.

    "This Software is FRAUD-WARE !!"

    February 18, 2013  |

    Version: BIOSAgentPlus 2.2010.1.8

    Pros

    None regarding the BIOS function

    Cons

I was told on two occasions that my H.P. XW4400 workstation BIOS needed to be updated. Of course this meant spending $$$ to obtain the purported BIOS upgrade. After spending $$$ I was directed to wait 24 hours for the technical department to review the recommended update. I received an email saying there was an error. My current BIOS was the latest for my workstation. Several months later I found a more recent BIOS available for download from H.P... I downloaded the HP BIOS update and installed it. It had a file date making it the HP update over two years old. I again ran the program and was told that there was a newer BIOS. I followed the update protocol and waited 24 hours again. The company indicated that my BIOS was the latest version. LOL

    Summary

Save yourself the aggravation and wasted time by avoiding this software.

    "Get your refund."

    February 12, 2013  |   By catsinmyfreezer

    Version: BIOSAgentPlus 2.2010.1.8

    Pros

    None that I can see.

    Cons

    Quite a few.

    Summary

The first sign of resistance about your refund, contact your credit card company. They'll take care of it, give you a temporary credit and it will switch to a permanent credit once they look into it. The best part about this method is that the loser(s) at biosagentplus will have to pay a dispute fee in addition to refunding your money. Great technique for a****les like these.

    "Warning: Scam"

    February 5, 2013  |   By luke_bristol

    Version: BIOSAgentPlus 2.2010.1.8

    Pros

    None what so ever.

    Cons

This software is a complete scam. Not only does it attempt to trick you into buying software you already have (and may well be available for free elsewhere), it installs itself with no uninstall option and leaves god knows what errant code littered across your computer.

    Summary

    Avoid.

    Shame on you CNET.

"It's ok for what it does."

    September 3, 2012  |   By Cobra_R

    Version: BIOSAgentPlus 2.2010.1.8

    Pros

it's good for fidning outdated drivers on your computer if you haven't updated your drivers in a while or if you are still using Windows XP and you are looking for hardware drivers for your computer that have been discontinued by the vendor.

    Cons

Showing that my laptop needs a Bios update in which seems not correct seeing as i already have the latest Bios update from the vendor. It showed my laptop needing a Bios update and my Bios was just updated to the latest version from the vendor as of last week. Sounds more like a sales pitch then anything else.

Some of the updated drivers it found were either older versions of the drivers that i had already installed or were not compatible with my system. One update showed that i needed a Sony LCD driver update and I have an Asus laptop. Go figure...

    Summary

Customer service was good about giving me a refund I had no issues with them after explaining the issue i had with the driver software search.

You can try it out for 30 days with a money back guarantee if it works for you great if not you can always get your money back during that 30 day timeframe when you first bought it.

"This software can seriously mess up you computer !!"

    July 22, 2012  |   By Doctor Logic

    Version: BIOSAgentPlus 2.2010.1.8

    Pros

Their "sales pitch" even tempted me to try the program !

    Cons

My computer already has the latest bios from the manufacturer's website, but this programme told me there was an update available.
There was no information about the bios update or the other drivers on my computer it told me required updating unles I paid $30 to be given their useless information, since all my drivers are also the very latest versions.
Another indication of this program's evil intent is that it does not load it's .exe file in the usual program's folder but hides it at C:\Documents and Settings\MYCOMPUTER\Local Settings\Application Data\eSupport.com\biosagentplus_822.exe - and, of course there is no uninstall option.
So you have to delete this and the registry entries it has created yourself.......and just hope it hasn't left any malicious files, or opened any backdoors to your system.

    Summary

Don't waste your time with this.
