For a torrent-downloading app, Azureus is chock-a-block full of features that set it apart from the rest of the pack.
From XML torrent options to IP filters, firewall tests to UPnP plug-ins, Azureus leads the way in making the torrent experience as customizable as possible. When you install the program, it gives you three levels of option settings, for beginner, intermediate, and advanced controls. There's a configuration wizard, an easy-to-use torrent maker, and dozens of ways to set your statistics logs so you can track download speed and performance.
The layout could benefit from larger buttons. Nevertheless, it's uncluttered and the icons are straightforward--none of those unhelpful "sad face" icons to stop the torrent. In the past, the Java architecture has been a fatal flaw, with Azureus porking out and consuming resources as if they were pies in an eating contest. It's still a major processor drain, but the latest version isn't anywhere near as bad as earlier ones have been, and we recommend this app to advanced users.

From Vuze :Azureus is a easy-to-use Java BitTorrent client, with support for 27 languages. Azureus connects to the BitTorrent network. BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer protocol designed to transfer files. Users connect directly to send and receive portions of a file, while a central tracker coordinates the action of all peers and manages connections without knowledge of the contents of the files being distributed. With BitTorrent, users upload at the same time they download, so network bandwidth is managed as efficiently as possible. BitTorrent is designed to work better than other file-transfer protocols as the number of people interested in a certain file increases.
Version 2.2.0.2 include a few updates, enhancements and bug fixes.

Pros: It works and has almost every function you need. If you want the spyware free version (of anything) don't download from here! ;)

"One of the top two bit torrents"
Pros: 1. Easy to use interface.
2. Gives you all the details of the current download(s).
3. Great at downloading more than one torrent at once.
Cons: Azureus is slightly slower than BitTornado. You also need java runtime environment for Azureus to work. To get the spyware free version of azureus, download from azureus.sourceforge.net

Pros: The best Bit-torrent client by far. Has everything you need, built in plugin download & updater.
Cons: I can not think of any.

"Great Bittorrent Client So Far"
Pros: You can manage more than 1 torrent download without having another window open unlike the original bittorrent client. You can very detailed views on both your torrent uploads and downloads. They also give you options to make your own torrent and lots of other things you can configure.
Cons: Since it does use a java platform.. it is extrememly resource-intensive -- meaning it requires a lot of system resources to run it. If you click on the developer link, "Azureus" -- you can definitely grab a spyware/adware FREE version off SOURCEFORGE.NET. I'm not sure about download.net's version.. but the program files seems to have been modified and spyware was added to it.

"Probably the best client there is."
Pros: Despite what other people say I find this program to use very little resources. Just 5% resources on my pc, which is by no means top notch. This was the only client I could get to work properly. All the others were extremely slow, and didn't look anywhere near as nice. Azureus also has some nice features abscent from others, such as Super Seeding and the ability to control up and down speeds for each individual torrent. I would recommend this over any others.
Cons: Requires Java.
