"Fast and accurate, but limited"

Very fast and accurate! Great for finding duplicates!
Fast: It scanned an image archive with over 9,000 images in over 700 directories in just a few minutes and turned up over 1,000 matches. I was very impressed.
Accurate: Does a good job matching up a small thumbnail with its larger companion image, and even does a good job matching images of different formats with different levels of detail loss (ie: it'll match up a high resolution 1MB+ PNG24 with a low-resolution 10KB GIF thumbnail of the same image).Cons
Managing duplicates is a painful, tedious process.
Let's say you found 1,000 duplicate images in your search, as I did. Instead of being able to select all of the 100% match duplicates and delete them all with one click, I had the miserable experience of having to manually delete EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Sigh. That process took me 20-30 minutes. Really? That meant I had to go down a list of 1,000+ duplicates, click the delete icon for each one, and then confirm the delete in a pop-up dialog for each one. Really!? Even with keyboard shortcuts this was painful.
If there's feature that absolutely should be added, it would be a way to mass-delete all selected matches quickly and painlessly.Summary
Despite the painful con I mention above, this is a great tool for weeding duplicates from your photo archive. I'd been amassing images for years in mine, and knew there were duplicates, but never knew how to address the problem. This great little tool helped me get there. After deleting duplicates, if you end up with blank directories, you should grab another tool that will help you find blank directories and delete them, as this tool won't do that.
But despite Awesome's limits on duplicate image management, I'd recommend it. Hopefully it improves over time. -

Download and install were quick and flawless.
Found all the files, even those with several dupes.
Able to preview each pic including file name and size.
Allows file renaming in window.
Allows selection for various levels of similarity checking.
Choose a directory and it will scan sub-directories automatically.

Summary
I recently backed up my laptop and another computer onto a third. I'm into genealogy and had over 30,000 files of ancestors and grave markers. I felt I needed to view the files one by one, rather than have the program make these decisions for me because of file size differences, notes, etc. Because of this, multi-delete limitations listed by others were not of a concern to me. It did take a while to go through, file by file, but I would have had to do that anyway. I am extremely pleased. I can't imagine having had to search and compare any other way.

Displays all necessary info for each comparison.
Shows similarity as a percentage.Cons
No batch delete for duplicates of 100 % (or within a range).
Can't save the state for large result sets (i.e. thousands of duplicates to be reviewed).
Not possible to delete both photos in a comparison or rotate photos.

- Good clean easy to use UI.

- Does not seem to work with large number of files, with constant crashes and memory problems.
Summary
Unfortunately I find that the software is pretty much unable to deal with more than a few dozen pictures at a time - even with 16GB of RAM every time I try to use this I run into out of memory problems and application crashing errors, making this pretty much useless for large collection of pictures.

"The best I found so far"

- Pretty fast at its job
- Finds resized images of an image
- Gives a preview of images under consideration with file size so that you know what image is it and what you are deleting
- Gives a percentage of similarity, which may not be much use but still good to have it than nothing.
- You don't HAVE to delete the duplicates, you can move them to another folder.
- Its free.Cons
- User settings are very limited.

Let me be honest, I don't give anything more than 4 stars unless its just superb. This program IS superb but lost a half star to its cons. Before using this program, I tried Picasa's experimental feature and VisiPics which is recommended all over the internet but found out this program and dupueguruPE. VisiPics is very slow and I had difficulty with comparing the results. dupeguruPE gave me very few results. VisiPics gave me a few more than dupeguruPE and this one gave me maximum results. The results are NOT crap and they were indeed duplicates or resized files (I had tons of them which I had completely forgotten).
Other reviewer have expressed dissatisfaction or more shortcomings but I STRONGLY recommend you to give it a try. If it doesn't fit your bill, you haven't wasted too much of time and processor cycles. -

Doesn't use too much Computer Power, can slow you down if you have thousands of pictures. Small, Effective, Basic Single Task Program.

I wonder if someone is having a joke. This software is USELESS because it matches pictures that are only marginally similar. To be any good at all, the user should be able to set a percentage similarity that will create a match. I don't know if this is someone's first attempt at writing software, all I can tell you is it's CRAP.

Havent downloaded this program because i think its a waste if it only seeks out photo duplicates when Auslogics program found 460 other duplicate files!
