"Alternative method for getting rid of the notifier"
Pros
Aside from its annoying nag screen, it is a quite easygoing antivirus program when it comes to getting along with other antivirus programs in the same system. Thus, I can also run Comodo Internet Security Premium along with the Comodo Antivirus module.
I have disabled Avnotify.exe using the Defence options of Comodo.Cons
Nag screen and persistent reboot prompt are really disturbing. The reboot is not required at all for the actual virus protection but only for their nag screen to run (thus, it is misleading).
Summary
The nag screen and reboot prompt drive the user away!
The scuffle continues. Now I have blocked avrestart.exe and the restart nag that kept appearing to punish me for disabling the avnotify nag is successively disabled!
If it is having no more free version users in the long term, they will probably achieve this. Permanent free version users may not be converted into paid users, however their wide use of the software would help to the image and attract other (also paid) users. I hope that Avira realizes this soon and changes their new odd policy, leaving (forever) free users alone!

Hi Koral_Darkness; I love Avira too, but I can not use it because when I scan it finds hidden objects and Avira gives me an error message that says to get there rescue disk, so I can not do late night scans because my computer will be on all night. I do not know how to stop this from happening. I am using AVG now, had Avast but because of the slow downs I went to Avira then to AVG would like to go to Avira.
With your help I was able to get rid of the notifier, but I can not use Avira to do late night scans. Using AVG now.
