Version: Avira AntiVir Personal - Free Antivirus 8.1.0.331
"Good! But........"
Pros: Anti-virus software is really OK. Have an high detection level and not consumes too much of OS resources.
Cons: Even if the user sets the detection level to medium, it continues to prompt false detections. Every time when attempting to update the program, it shows a nag screen.

Regarding the Nag screen on Avira asking you to buy the paid for version, you can disable it by doing the following:
In the Avira folder which is usually in C: Program Files, you should find a file called "avnotify.exe". If you right click on this select Properties, then select the Security tab. Next you will need to click on EDIT, on the next window you need to tick the box beside READ & EXECUTE, when you do this the READ box will automatically be ticked too. After doing this click APPLY then OK and then OK again.
Now when Avira updates you will no longer get the NAG screen. I done this a few months ago and since doing this I have not seen the NAG screen since. -
One I found that all free antivirus programs give some falls results. That is why they are free. That is also way I use more then one anti-virus program on my computer. I don't care about the name only the results. I've had no problems with virus or malware. I agree with the nag screen, it should be changed to look like what Advance windows care 2 has or what AVG has just another box added to the main function box, this way you can still use the main functions without having to close the nag screen all the time. Also I hope your using a Firewall of some name brand or other this will always help protect your system.

Maxenzo statistics can easily be faked. I've used Avira, Avast, and AVG in the past and Avira easily gave me the most false positives.

thats not true, and for your information, avg and avast had allot more false positives on av-comparatives than antivir,i think you are just an avg fan,and now you are trying to make the people to change to avg.
