This is good free software for editing videos.
Cons
It does not work well on WMV files. I could edit the videos but the sound would not match up no matter what the people on the website forum had me try.

I am an elderly novice PC user but was able to figure out how to use this software quite quickly. I have been using it for about 2 yrs, I was using the paid commercial software Video ReDo, but find this serves me just as well. It is open source software which is quite regularly updated. If you wish to remove adverts ( which I use it for amongst other things) from anything which you may have captured on TV this will do it quite easily.
It is free and very good software and can recommend that you give it a try.

It's a great program, from what I can see but you can't test it because it's NOT free to try.
Cons
Can only save first 5 min. of output. If what you're editing has 10min of movie before first cut, then you can't see if the program actually works.

I needed to split MP4 files into smaller pieces, tried two different large (over 4 GB) files with no success. It just gives me an error and crashes.
