Has sandbox, auto-sandbox and safe zone to offer safe working even in threatening circumstances. It has a firewall to protect the computer. Its real time shields are so broad even offering anti-spam and phishing protection. It can be used for parental control to block certain sites even with remote and browser protection. Its market feature gives further options on specialized protection. Avast is surely the revolutionary in anti-malware softwares.
Cons
So far i have seen virtually no disadvantages as it evens updates automatically am on the web a fact others may view as a con but which i view as a plus since i get the latest in terms of protection.
Summary
Avast offers the best in real time online and offline protection against viruses and other malware and even intentional unauthorized access to my computer and e-mail accounts. It is the best.

I have used many different anti virus programs and non of them have done nearly as well as Avast. Avast has kept my computer clean and healthy and looks after it while surfing the web. It has a awesome game mode where it sits silently so it won't interrupt you while you are playing. I truly believe it is the best anti virus program out there.
Cons
I can't think of anything wrong with this program.
Summary
If you are looking for a cheap and yet very reliable program, Avast is what you should get with out a doubt.

I dont know much about the engine side of computers but Avast keeps poping up to tell me it has updated the system and all the time the little avast symbol is in my tray and moving, I am happy.

Frequent virus database updates happen behind the scenes. Configuration is simple. I've had no false alarms and no missed viruses with this software. Highly recommended, especially as it does not leave traces of itself all over your system. If you ever want to uninstall it (Tho' I don't know why you would.) it comes off cleanly, unlike some "big name" suites I could name.
Cons
Have yet to find any.
Summary
I recommend this software to all my friends and when I buy or build a new computer it is the first thing I install once I'm online.
