    "Wow fascinating!"

by JoyceNgo on March 31, 2008

Pros: And people recommended me to use AVG antivirus? I can't believe this program comes with so many features in such a small, easy to use interface. Not only does it scan for viruses now, but it also includes anti-rootkit protection, antispyware, and even less memory usage! I love this antivirus, it has so many easy to use features that can save you from viruses and allow you to safely browse the web. It is so non-intrusive and good for anyone who wants a working FREE antivirus! Worth more than the free price!

Cons: None so far. I'd love to see a firewall, but I can't complain, this program could take a while to make, and since it is free, I'm satisfied.

If you go to their homepage you will find this: avast! antivirus v4.8 represents a multi-award winning solution to virus protection, with anti-spyware and anti-rootkit software built in for added security.

Does Avast home edition include the "Virus Check" notification memo at the bottom of every email, like AVG?

  • reply by: JoyceNgo on April 6, 2008

I didn't consider it a true firewall since it doesn't notify what it blocks and allows. Plus I couldn't judge the use of it since I didn't see much that changed when I had it and when I didn't have it. It seems the same to me.

Avast has a low security hacker defence firewall called network shield in on-access control pop-up
