out of everything that you can do to prevent virus and infection the first step is scanning every inbound and outbound file. avast does it if you set it to. norton and mcaffe fall way short. they ask if you allow and the stop scanning. blingo your infected. thanks avast.

it is the best they have thought of almost everything. except adding antispyware removers.

Well good updates, i finds viruses if there are any on my machine.
Cons
just today it updated itself and a moment later my antivir came with a warning about a file: HTML/Infected.WebPage.Gen
I checked it out and its a trojan so i would be very carefull if downloading this program, unless its because i was unlucky when downloading the latest updates, but still antivir detected this.

well, I ve been using avast for almost 2 years now and I can say by own experience that has saved my computer many times.its a great and FREE anti virus.
protects all: your email, IM, p2p, internet.
interface is simple and esay to use.
