"Been using it for 3 years now..."
Version: Avast Home Edition - Free Antivirus 4.8.1356
Pros
Absolutely amazing. Never had any problems with virus infections! Recommended all of my friends and family members to use it.
Cons
I don't really like the CD player interface. But most of the time, this program works in background to protect your computer. Rarely, you will need to open the interface.

Amazing!Amazing!Amazing!

"For years others slowed my PC,but this is great!"
Version: Avast Home Edition - Free Antivirus 4.8.1356
Pros
I have this on several PC's, and no problems at all.
Cons
I like everything about this product.
-
"It was kinda easy."
Version: Avast Home Edition - Free Antivirus 4.8.1356
Pros
Easy to have, use, and it's there at your finger tips.
Cons
The bottom line, the license key. It's a pain in the..........neck.
Summary
The license key, as I mentioned, is a pain. As for myself, I'm having a bad time with it. Trying to contact a human is impossible. All paper work. The representatives think that all PCs have the same color as theirs, they are wrong. It depends on what kind of browser they are using. I do have my license key number and when Avast asks me for it, I'll give it to them. I'm not going to bust my brains trying to figure out this puzzle.

"The software works great...and it's FREE!"
Version: Avast Home Edition - Free Antivirus 4.8.1356
Pros
Doesn't make my computer slow. Doesn't make my other programs fail to run properly. Doesn't shut my computer down for hours when it catches a threat. It just deals with it.
Cons
I haven't found anything that I don't like about it yet.
Summary
I have used Norton and McAfee products for several years. Each time I got a new one, I hated it worse than the last time! The programs do their job, but they also create problems with everything else. After about every fourth update, my Outlook would not work right until I went in and changed all the allowances again. My Internet Explorer was often messed up with updates. The way they bogged down my computer and made is so slow was extremely frustrating! The scans took hours to be performed. I got to the point where I absolutely hate McAfee and Norton because the problems they create for me all the time, are almost as bad as the problems I was trying to prevent. Avast has been wonderful! I have had several threats blocked since I've been using it. It never shuts down my computer, it just deals with it quickly and quietly. It doesn't make my computer slow. And it doesn't cost $100 every year to renew my subsciption to something I have hated for the past year. I'm so glad I had a friend who convinced me to try Avast! I'll never go back.

"Best AV ever"
Version: Avast Home Edition - Free Antivirus 4.8.1356
Pros
One of the best antivirus i have ever use. Minimum Problem, maximum output. It's so much better than AVG and Avira. It's less anooying
Cons

-
"Nearly bulletproof. Highly recommended. A+"
Version: Avast Home Edition - Free Antivirus 4.8.1356
Pros
Does its job extremely well using very little system resources. Offers more security options than any other free AV program.
Cons
With all the protection it offers (for free), it's hard to find a complaint.
Summary
Not only does this antivirus program do its job well, it does it better than any other free AV program available right now, while using the least amount of RAM and CPU performance. Avast is so efficient at identifying and stopping threats, it will not only find viruses in downloaded files; it will also detect viruses in files while they are being downloaded to prevent you from completing the download of infected files to your PC. It will also detect malicious websites (attack sites, malware infected, etc.) before you open them to prevent unauthorized access to your PC. Seven different scanner engines enable you to choose the level of protection best suited for your needs (or paranoia level, if necessary). An optional real-time database generator is also included which monitors and builds a virus database based on your unique system environment in the case of a severe infection to your PC. Of all the free popular antivirus programs available, Avast is the heavyweight champ. #1 in my book. Highly recommended.

"I love it, works great"
Version: Avast Home Edition - Free Antivirus 4.8.1356
Pros
Everything works as it should.
Cons
The only "con" might be that you have to do a full computer scan manually, with the free edition. The scan is easy to do, so that's not really a problem.
Summary
I replaced a PAID version of AVG with this program and only wonder why it took me so long to remove AVG from my computer.
Avast does what it says it will do...and does it very well.
I highly recommend this over any AVG or Norton product.
