    "Good choice for a home user."

    Pros

    Avast can be customized.
    It offers download checking/exploit protection.
    Very low impact on computer performance.
    Nice, clean User Interface.

    Cons

    The Advanced settings can be overwhelming for the average user.
    Sometimes annoys me with the "Virus database has been updated" sound.
    Web Reputation plugin is a bit obsolete, and can be fooled through brute force.

    Summary

    I like avast. It doesn't slow down my computer, and it hasn't let a virus infect my computer. It does what it is supposed to do.

    Settings/Sounds/Disable sounds. Wow that was hard. Web rep is site advisor like any other such as WOT.
