    The only way Avast can scan fast, is by not checking whole files or by use of the persistent cache. Also, Avast was tested by Consumer Reports and not their first pick for free antivirus, Avira was! Avast still has work to do, if it ever hopes of beating Avira Antivir. Avast may have a lot of bells and whistles and slow scanning, but it does not have top detection scores.
