"Simple, easy and virus free."

Pros
The program is simple, easy to understand. Able to on and off the updates as my wish. Able to set for gaming mode and freely in control of on and off for my shields. Able to on program inside "sandbox" that makes the program runs in a safe situation.
Cons
Unable to completely turn off avast.
Summary
I love avast. Even with free version, i am able to protect my computer from harmful viruses.

I have used other antivirus programs in the past and I would always end up with some type of virus on my computer. I can honestly say that since I have switched three years ago I no longer have that problem.

Summary
I have always been a Norton AV person, but was having issues, so decided to try Avast Free. Avast decided that two of my Norton Ghost images and numerous text files contained a high threat. The text files have been on my filesystem for over 3 years, and were NEVER detected as an issue. I have now gone back to Norton IS, and scans have been "clean", including those files, plus there have been no "password" problems.
But I guess Avast being overly sensitive is better that missing something that could be a real issue. -
