"It worked for me - after a fashion"
Pros: easy install
simple interfaceCons: incredibly slow. need to switch off many default settings but still it calls up mail
Summary: It did what I wanted but took a long time to scan 250 GB. - left it to run over the weekend. First trial would not fix viruses and gave unhelpful messages. Downloaded update and then it would. Can't see why this should be but it did work and found ... read more

Pros: There is nothing to like about this application.
Cons: Just doesn't work, at, all.
Summary: Waste of my time downloading & deleting. For Mac users, if you can't delete avast when it's in your trash (something about socket or MacAvast file still in use), you have to RE-download avast, run it, go to preferences & uncheck everything in... read more

"THIS IS A HORRENDOUS PRODUCT."
Pros: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
Cons: this product is horrendous, it does not work and is impossible to delete from your mac unless you spend hundreds to get a "key" that is free for Windows users but YOU have to buy. Avast is not worth your money or your time, do not ever download.
Summary: Do not ever download this product if you are a Mac user. The company is very deceitful about its ability to work on a Mac and its versatility. This is a bad choice for an antivirus product if you are a Mac user!!! read more

"Can NOT describe how a waste of my time this has been"
Pros: not very much to like..I can't get rid of the "expired license" all that happens when I click "change license" resulting in a mobious circle around absoluterly no result!
Cons: B4 my first year expired and I got railroaded into pissing away $107. for the MacOSX home version all I can say is the first year seemed to be flawless..I got trapped in to spending over $100 of my SSA pension I have NO antivirus protection.
Summary: I have WASTED dozens and dozens of hours trrying to get this "fixed" all I got was a short e mail from avast that insulted my intelligence...I have sent AVAST dozens of appeal to correct the problem OR RETURN MY MONEY so I can afford to buy a servic... read more
