Version: Auslogics Disk Defrag 1.4.16.308
"GOOOD BUT........"
Pros: This is a very fast disk defragmenter and of course it's much faster than the built in windows version. Also i do like the easy to use setup and i love the colours whilst it's under way ( that's a nice touch too) And of course we ALL love free software he he! And you get Bi monthly updates which can't be a bad thing.
Cons: But it just doesn't do a complete job of defragmentation. I mentioned the same thing last year and a few other people made the same comment too. Recently my computer seemed to be getting slower. Firstly i thought it was some nasties on my computer, but checked out ok. I am running anti spyware, anti virus, cleaning my hard drive etc and defragging using Auslogics. So i went to the windows Disk defagmenter and the files were spread out all over the place! I then compacted the files further using windows and my computer is running much faster now!
Yes Auslogics is very fast but it's just not efficient enough for me, sorry. So I am now trying out the latest version of IOBIT Disk Defrag and i will let you know how it goes.

Yes it will Defrag fast but does not compact your files..Everytime I used the built in windows Disk Defagmenter for my XP computer my computer would be much faster because not only did it Defrag it compacted the files for faster access..My computer did not speed up after a Defrag with Auslogics Defrag like it use to and I wondered why.Well just like this reviewer I found out my files were spread out all over my hard drive..So I used the built in Windows XP Defragmenter that does compact your files and my computer was very fast again. If they ever make this to compact files as well as Defrag I may use it again but not until then.I would rather it take a little longer and do it right.I have used Norton Speed Disk before also and it compacts your files and lines them up for faster access so your PC doesn't have to search all over the Hard drive to find everything...For me the built in Windows Defrag is better and speeds up my PC faster..This does not...It is pretty and flashy but doesn't help me.

I agree with the other person that replied. The program is fast, but does not compact files. I ran this program first, and then immediately ran the Windows Defragmenter. Windows found 2 fragments, and like you said, the files were really spread out.

...it doesn't compact the files. Use the slower Windows defrag once in a while to compact. I suspect this was your issue.
