BoostSpeed is an effective all-encompassing utility suite, combining some of Auslogics' popular freeware titles such as Disk Defrag and Registry Defrag with services that they don't offer elsewhere. There's an uninstall manager, a startup manager for boot cycle customizations, RAM and browser optimizers, file shredder, DirectX diagnostic, Windows tweak manager, and several mini apps to manage Windows settings. It also comes with a rescue center that can back up any settings before you change them. No doubt, BoostSpeed gives you your money's worth, at least in terms of services provided. Upgrading also only costs $10, for those who own older versions.

Are they all worth paying for? That depends on what kind of user you are. Most, if not all, of these features are available as freeware from one vendor or another, and generally one in each category is top-notch or nearly so. Some of the lesser tools, like the tweaks manager and the security feature, didn't live up to our expectations. Tweaks focused on basic functions and wouldn't serve as a replacement for TweakUI, while the security feature merely let me know that we had up-to-date security apps installed. Still, the convenience of having all these tools located under one umbrella was hard to argue with, and even the tools that didn't impress did their jobs hitch-free.

Scan speeds for the features new to us included here were comparable with those in Disk Defrag. Users also got the convenience of optionally setting the program to run at startup and live in the system tray, making most of the program's functionality no more than a context-menu click away. The most useful tools are the Disk Defrag, the RAM optimizer, the Registry Optimizer--if you believe that "optimizing" the Registry is more than snake oil--the file shredder, and the performance monitor. The 15-day trial comes unfettered, allowing you to thoroughly judge if this is a program you want.

"Good program that delivers"

April 23, 2012  |  By SeenTheLight

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 5.2.1

Pros

Delivers on its promises. Has about 20 separate utilities combined in one package. I like the interface and the fact that I can use it when I want and it won't constantly run in the background hogging memory.

Cons

Can't think of any at the moment.

Summary

Compared this program to Tuneup Utilities 2012 and BoostSpeed wins hands down for me.

"It just keeps getting better"

April 18, 2012  |  By GR8person

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 5.2.1

Pros

I use almost all tools included in this program - Auslogics explains what each tool does, you can always see a list of files the program plans to remove or work on, and uncheck the ones you don't want touched.
The interface is extremely novice-friendly. I've found it easy to locate everything I ever needed.
The defrag tool is super fast. The registry tools are the safest I've ever used. I could go on and on with praise for the remaining 15 or so tools included in the suite...

Cons

I've thought for over 5 minutes trying to come up with negative things to say about this program and couldn't find anything. To me it's simply perfect.

Summary

Top of the line software and really fast customer service from Auslogics. I recommended Boostspeed to my great uncle, he bought it and had trouble registering the program (he's really bad with computers), so he wrote the company an email demanding immediate refund. Later that same day he called me and I helped him register the program, so he sent Auslogics another email asking to cancel his refund request. Turns out the company had already processed the refund before they got his second email. That's what I call fast customer service! My uncle had to buy the program again. :)

"Well worth every penny"

April 17, 2012  |  By tjazzzzz

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 5.2.1

Pros

This is the most comprehensive maintenance suite I've found. It is also the only one that has never caused any problems on any of the computers I've used it on. It contains Auslogics' fast defragmenter - my favorite defrag tool ever.

Cons

None for me

Summary

I really notice the difference in system performance after I use this program. Sometimes I forget and start thinking that my computer is fast by itself, but 2 or 3 weeks without using BoostSpeed remind me how slow things could be if I didn't run this program on a regular basis. I love this software!

Pros

I didn't find any pro's.

Cons

nothing about it is free.

Summary

they use deception to get you download. I thought auslogics was a great company but with this type of ploy I don't know anymore.

"Sucks you into thinking it's free - IT'S NOT FREE"

April 12, 2012  |  By you dont say

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 5.2.1

Pros

I never got that far to find any pros.

Cons

I don't have a problem if an app wants to charge you a fee to use but tell us upfront that it's not free BEFORE we download it not after we download it. Trickery.

Summary

The services this app charges you for can all be downloaded separately for free. Save your money.

"Boost it up"

February 29, 2012  |  By AVM1986

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 5.2.1

Pros

+ Full version makes everything fast and safe.
+ No more bad things into the system.
+ Advanced instruments are handy, but read and be carefull.
+ Speeded up my internet connection.
+ System advisor is one of the easiest and greatest things i have ever seen in a program.

Cons

- System advisor can be frustrating when you de-activate something you shouldnt have de-activated.
- After boostspeed scan, my security essentials is saying that it's time to scan again.

Summary

BoostSpeed is an easy program that makes the system more stable and faster.
But you have to be carefull not to erase or disable anything that's important.
I accidently disabled wireless internet because system advisor mentioned it to be not in use.
Eventually that's correct because i switched from wireless to cable.
In other words, boostspeed is active all the time, so read carefull what he is mentioning as advice.

It's easy to use, but you still need to take your time to make it run at it's best.
