Editors' Review

Auslogics BoostSpeed 7 is an impressive suite of tools to help you maximize your PC's operating efficiency. In addition, the program provides extra features that make managing everything about your system that much easier.

Tons of tools: BoostSpeed offers all kinds of ways to improve your system's overall speed and performance, as well as to protect your privacy and optimize your operating system. The Home section contains options for opening up disk space, improving computer stability, and boosting speed. Scans in these areas are completed automatically when you open the program, and you can quickly repair any or all of them with the click of a button. Other tools are available through various tabs running across the bottom of the interface, and these include a startup manager, a file shredder, a duplicate-file finder, an uninstall manager, a disk explorer, and more.

Advanced options: Novices will get plenty out of the main features available through the app's main interface. But experienced users will find advanced options through the Settings Menu. These include the ability to enable a deep scan, which takes longer but can root out more issues; an Ignore List, to which you can add Registry keys you want the program to skip during scans; and a Scheduler to set up automatic maintenance runs.

Action Center: The Action Center is with other tool sections arrayed across the bottom of the screen, but it's really not part of the app. All it contains are links to download other programs by the same developer, which could be confusing for novices.

Bottom Line

Auslogics BoostSpeed 7 is a powerful tool for improving your system's overall performance. The variety and clear presentation of the program's tools make it a good option for users of all experience levels.

Editors' note: This is a review of the full version of Auslogics BoostSpeed 7. The trial version has limited functionalities.

"What a piece of junk"

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 9.0

Its not a virus

It doesn't actually do anything worthy of note.
If you buy the software, then expect to buy it again when the next new version comes out and no, your "subscription" doesn't give you access to the new versions that are released. If you want them, then you have to pay for this junk all over again.
Using the free version is worthless since it wont actually tell you what's supposedly wrong and the only way to find out is to actually pay for their crappy software.

In short its doesn't do anything that someone with just a little common sense could already do. Its also a scam since subscribing to their service is only valid for the version of the software that you purchased, when they release a new version you have few options, stick with the version you have, buy the new version or find something that's opensource, but probably works better.

Its rather sad to see this type of scam is still around. The last time companies pulled this type of scam that forces you to buy every new version of their software instead of just patching the version you have was somewhere around 2005.

"OK at what it does. Really good at asking for more $$"

Set and forget. Optimizes well. The auto-defrag I added works well without getting in the way. My success with the driver updater is so-so: the updates to Bluetooth killed Bluetooth and I had to roll the drivers back. Other updates have been fine. CCleaner does as good a job in handling temp files and such.

Bought BoostSpeed 6, and then upgraded to version 8, only 10 months ago. Reluctantly paid for defragger and driver updater, even though I had a "premium" subscription. Now, I'm told that version 9 is available (I'm reminded daily by a pop-up window on my PC), and that all of my subscriptions mean nothing - I'll have to purchase new versions of everything and new subscriptions. Just went to their site to make sure that my subscription wasn't set to automatically renew, because I want nothing more to do with these guys.

Skip it, unless you've got money to burn.
