Audion is a Mac-only audio player that can play MP3s, CDs, and Shoutcast/Icecast streaming audio. It features a clean interface, a powerful playlist, a built-in streaming audio directory, full drag-and-drop capabilities, support for CDDB queries, EQ, and more.
Version 2.5 added many new features, including a new playlist-based toolbar, support for transferring files to portable MP3 devices, improved CD playback, a playlist search box that allows lists to be instantly narrowed, WMA playback, and support for CD title entry and submission to freedb servers.
Audion 3 is a major update to Audion. Nearly every corner of the application has been refined and enhanced. New features include iPod Support, selectable song transitions, mp3PRO encoding and decoding, recording (streams/audio input), broadcasting, inline tag editing, contextual menus, a sleep timer, and much more. Audion 3.0.2 is a free upgrade for any Audion 3 owner.

This is a free converter, go to their website and they will give you a free registration number.
It takes some getting used to, but this allows you to play and even convert wma files into mp3 or any other file.Cons
The download available on this site is an ancient one. Go to the product website for the MacOSX version.

Being a Mac person, I went searching for a program that would d/l and record streams and came across this gem. I'd like to give the guys behind this software a high five. You guys rock! Very easy to use, 5000 streams to choose from, easy to record, built in EQ, well, just check it out for yourself.

I downloaded this because iTunes mp3 encoder is horrible. This might have gotten a better rating if I'd never used iTunes - I now expect features, dammit! There are bugs everywhere. When my mac just about locked up from all the freezing, I called it quits.

Do not use or purchase this product! .... I purchased this product beleiving it was a solid product and found it was to crash consistantly after a short time, It made a joke of being proffessional. Panic was contacted but refused to offer any real assistance or refund the purchase. Itunes came of age about this time so spent the effort and cash on OS X and never looked back. Panic is a bunch of loosers dont become one of them?

Crashes all the time and seems to reverse the channels when encoding from .aiffs. Tech support is non-existent. But for my purposes, a necessary "evil". The "Panic" company is well-named!

Summary
I bought the player because of its features and ability to encode mp3pro. When it works well, it is very fine but it tends to crash and freeze a lot on my computer. The visualizer really crashes it much more and I suggest it not be used. But the encoding is fine and stable and fairly fast.

God the bugs in this program, good features (when they work) but I've been using Macs for 3 years and this is the most buggy program I've ever tried incl. alpha & beta version apps (WORSE than IE).
