Editors' Review
AudioNote for Mac easily syncs audio recordings of meetings, lectures, and more with notes, so you'll never have to worry about missing context for your notes again.
Pros
Excellent interface: This app is set up intuitively with the controls for managing audio recording across the top of the interface, and the note-taking area below. Just click the button to start recording and begin taking notes. The time that corresponds to the recording is automatically inserted at the beginning of a new line, so you can quickly find the part that a particular note corresponds to.
Note-taking options: For your notes, you can choose the background you like best from options that include Graph Paper, White Lined, Yellow Lined, or White Blank. And you can adjust the time stamp for different notes if you get out of sync while you're typing. You can also just set the app to record a meeting or lecture and then take your notes later from that recording.
Cons
Font and format limitations: There is no way to change the font type, font size, or font color. You also have limited options when it comes to formatting your text. Depending on how you like to take notes and what you're taking them on, this may or may not be a significant drawback.
Bottom Line
AudioNote works well, and it gives you a whole new level of flexibility when it comes to note-taking. The interface makes it accessible to users of all experience levels, and the lack of font and formatting options aren't a huge inconvenience for the most part.
