"Fantastic bit of software"
Version: Audio Record Wizard 5.5
Pros
I'm a frequent user of Pro Tools in my work, but have always required a program to lodge itself between my soundcard and outputs before the digital to analog conversion and this appears to do precisely that. I've used other programs before and none have had any stability whatsoever. Audio Record Wizard on the other hand goes beyond what you would expect without flooding the user with unnecessary additions. It is a simple audio recorder; any features offered are there to aid the user in their recording and have obviously been developed from use and experience. This also rings true in the settings window where every attribute of your mp3, ogg or wav can be set to your needs (including a choice of VBR, ABR or CBR mp3) and all features can be easily configured. It even has a brilliantly executed file name system. It seems to work with Windows 7 seamlessly, incorporating all audio inputs detected in windows.
Cons
Absolutely none.
Summary
This software is not just aimed at those who want to digitalise their LPs or record an extract from a radio station - it more than satisfies the further advanced audiophiles with a simple, easy to use and inviting interface with every configuration you could want.
For a few dollars (or pounds in my case), it's a great deal too.
