Publisher's Description
From MindGems:
Audio Dedupe is an innovative tool that can recognize duplicate audio files even if they are stored in different file formats and are not marked with ID3 tags. Audio Dedupe will help you to find fast all similar or exact duplicate audio files in a folder and its subfolders. Unlike other duplicate file finders it will actually "listen" to your music and can recognize a song even if it is saved in different file formats. You can specify a percent of audio similarity - about 70% is a good choice. You can also choose fast CRC32 or file size algorithms. When the scan process is finished the program shows you all audio file duplicates in groups and can automatically mark the smaller bitrate, shorter length and/or smaller file size files for deletion (the lower quality ones). With a couple of mouse clicks you can get rid off all duplicate audio files and save valuable disk space.
New in this version: added support for AAC, MP4, FLAC, AC3, WavPack (WV), Musepack (MPC) and Windows Media Audio (WMA) file formats. Also added support for FLAC, WMA and MP4 tags.
What's new in this version: Version 2.5.0.1 added new options tab to select which columns you want to be shown in the results grid.

"Not as free as it seems"
Version: Audio Dedupe 2.0.0.1
Pros
Works well
Cons
You find out after downloading and deduping that the version you download here only dedupes the first 10 duplicates. If you want the rest, you have to shell out 30 bucks, which is an exorbitant price for the service provided.
Summary
Not worth it.

"Slow, unreliable memory hog. Don't buy it"
Version: Audio Dedupe 1.2.0.1
Pros
The interface and selection criteria for move or deletion are nice. When the detection produces decent results.
Cons
Was a huge memory hog on WinXP and would crash on large file sets. It finally works in XP64 but still does miss MANY exact duplicates of files (I'm at the 5th scan of same folder, at same similarity setting and still, it turns up new duplicates!) .
Summary
I ended up using MediaMonkey's 'Duplicate Files' playlist to extract similar files in titles, then did MANY passes back and forth between Similarity and AudioDedupe (the paid version nonetheless).
The first isn't yet mature enough. The latter..... Close to useless. Did I mention I actually *bought* the darm thing?
Will try/download Phelix as suggested herein. -
"Extremely slow!"
Version: Audio Dedupe 1.2.0.1
Pros
It seemed it worked. In addition I has OGG and AAC files support.
Cons
Roughly 4-5 times slower that other audio matcher tools. Uses only one CPU core.
Summary
Despite that I didn't find many duplicates removal tools with acoustical audio matcher, I don't recommend this tool, there are out better tools on the martket available. If you are a MAC user I would recommend Phelix (yes there is a Windows version too but the path in the Search Results List is incorrectly formated). It seemed there is only one option for Windows users - dupeGuru Music Edition.

"DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SOFTWARE"
Version: Audio Dedupe 1.2.0.1
Pros
Demo seemed to work?
Cons
Does not work as advertised. Consistantly misses exact duplicates of files. Impossibly slow to scan large quantities of files. Support is worse than bad.
Summary
Your a fool if you send these clowns a dime.
Disregard this comment. The vendor issued a refund for the software.
