Version: Audacity 1.2.4b
Pros: This an excellent piece of software, published with open code for FREE. Though not difficult at all in using it, even for a novice user, it requires 5 minutes of study, because there are so many options for the user. But after that, there is nothing you want to do with your MP3's that Audacity can't do. You can remove silent beginning and ends of your MP3's, you can cut off noice, you can reverb, you can... do anything you imaging about music. It is a Real gift and a great surprise that is offered for FREE.
Cons: After Audacity, other softwares about sound do not have anything to offer and justify even a low price. Don't think any more. Take it.

"I think its great; especially for podcasting"
Pros: Its great because its open-source and very easy to use. It also somes with some great editing features you usually don't get for free in normal studio software editors!

"One of the best sound editors at any price"
Pros: This one is up there with the very best commercial software, and preferable to several major editing suites. Totally flexible: every functional aspect of the software can be configured to suite whatever project, and whatever hardware setup, you are working with. Seamless export to major formats; basic plugins for every sort of post-production work come as part of the download. A separately downloadable package of LADSPA plugins takes this to full professional post-production standards.
Cons: Interface is very plain, certainly quite free from eye-candy of any sort, and can look a little daunting at first acquaintance. Use the excellent help file though, and the downloadable manual - and a little patience - and it will all make sense.

Pros: Great software. Allows you to fully edit sounds, create sounds, open sounds, export as many different kinds of file formats. Allows for multiple sounds, placements of sound. Options are very wide.
Small download for so much and so useful program. Recomended, definitely.
Cons: Took some time to get used, but once used to, it works a wonders.

"Bow down, this software is king!"
Pros: Perfect for podcasting. I can edit 4 audio tracks so I can save it as one. My radio show is so much better now that I have this program.
Cons: I hate it how I have to download a DLL just to do mp3 converting. But I cheat so I convert to wav then use a seperate program.
