Editors' reviewGreat for formatting but not for collaborating, this word processor program offers plenty of features for the budding wordsmith. Atlantis Word Processor's strength is in its formatting options.
Offering a fairly similar set of features as Microsoft Word, this program gives you access to many features by one-click buttons on the main program window. Pretty powerful autocorrect features help you keep from making the odd spelling mistake, and automatically hyphenates words (or lets you choose when) in a justified document. The lazier writers of our testing team especially liked the "power type" feature, which automatically completes words for you, or allows you to choose from a list of words the database thinks you're typing.
Atlantis isn't able, however, to deal with text boxes or other complicated forms. What's more, macros or document collaboration isn't available. An added bonus of Atlantis is its ability to encrypt documents. You simply choose a password, and save a document as an encrypted file. Overall, while it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Word, Atlantis is more than just a mythical tale of riches under the sea--it's a powerful word processing system that will let you create your own tall tales that look great, too.
Compact, fast loading, but still powerful and efficient, Atlantis will be the perfect companion for a wide range of your word processing tasks. Its unique typing assist with learning abilities, the Power Type, will help you compose documents in less time. The Overused Words feature will help writers avoid repetitions and cliches. With Atlantis, you can convert any document to an eBook with just a few mouse clicks. And much-much more for you to discover.
