Version: Ashampoo WinOptimizer 4
"Ashampoo Hasn't Gained My Trust But, They Are Gaining My Respect"
Pros: Niether myself nor UM Canes are big fans of Ashampoo, however, we have tested several new products in the Ashampoo line that shows they are making a sincere effort to provide a quailty products to their customers.
Ashampoo got a second when UM Canes suggested I take a look at the Ashampoo Photo Commander 5. As usual, it seemed as though Ashampoo had released another product to was pretty and easy on the eyes ~ with that, I didn't do any major testing at that time and overlooked a respectable application.
A few days later, Um Canes once again suggested I take a look at another product; ironically, Ashampoo AntiSpyware 1.5! I must admit, this app caught my attention. Security has never been one of Ashampoo's strongest areas but, they have "stepped up to the plate," with their spyware application.
And once again, Um Canes suggested I try one more app by Ashampoo!
Well, Ashampoo has at least earned my respect with the release of WinOptimizer 4!
Any of you that follow my reviews know that I am very careful with registry cleaning tools, but I have found confidence with the registry cleaner in this app. Furthermore, the tweaking tools that comes with this application is really good ~ espically for Ashampoo!
The defrag utility that comes with this app is effective and makes a noticable difference in the performace of my machine. It is a little on the slow the slow side, but considering what I recently learned about about one of the more popular defrag utilities ~ slow and effective is okay in my book.
I am as of yet not loyal to Ashampoo, however, if they continue to produce applications with the quialty I find in WinOptimzer 4, Photo Commander 5, and Anti Spyware 1.5 ~ THAT MIGHT CHANGE!

Cons: In the "Tweaking Tools," section of this application you will see the tweking option.
Once you are in the tweaking window, you will see listed as follows:
"Remove DLL Files from release and do not cache them."
I think this is a tweaking that is best suited for machine with alot of ram; at least 1 GB. My machine only has 512Mb, and after applying this tweak I noticed a loss in performance.
IF I GET CAN UM CANES TO COOPERATE WITH ME, I'LL GET HIM TO TEST THIS TWEAK ON HIS MACHINE AND POST MY RESULTS TO THE COMMENTS OF THIS REVIEW!
SO GET BUSY UM CANES. ~ THESE PEOPLE NEED ANSWERS, IT'S UP TO US TO GET THEM!
